May I ask two things?

  • How long did it take to make this map from start to finish?
  • I know you said someone helped you tweak the spawners, but besides that person, did you make this map all on your own!?

I've been working on this project as a whole since mid-May. I tried once before this unsuccessfully to build a map, but failed because it took so long (It took me 4 hours just to build a single wall of a skyscraper). I was building it in multiplayer, and I needed in-game world editing mods which we didn't know how to install. But it helped me work out the kinks with the texture pack.

This current map took me about 3 weeks to build, start to finish, including the time it took to fix the spawners. I used zombe's singleplayer mods to copy/paste, and I ended up not using a lot of what's built. If you go outside the black boundary box of the first level, you'll see ~50 blocks of streets cutting into the natural map. I overestimated how big I was going to make the first level.

And yes, minus the spawner tweaking, I built the map 100% by myself.

Might I add, this is wonderful, one of my favorites. Here's a mod I would recommend using with this, the new Mo Creatures. It adds rats, maneating, vicious rats. Just set the "Hostile Mobs" settings, such as ogres, werewolves, and wraiths to 0 and set them to spawn on a different difficulty. Rats + Zombies = Epicness. This gets a 9/10.
"Now, was that civilized? No, clearly not. Fun, but in no sense civilized."

Over 850 downloads in less than 48 hours. Wow, guys! I'm overwhelmed!

Thank you to everyone who's downloaded my map, and special thanks to those that have made videos! I've watched and loved each one :D (except when you cheat! /wags finger)

This map is really nifty. I give you my comendations and whatnot. Texture pack does make it much better though. :Diamond: <--- Deserved. Amazingly built map.
I don't need a large signature to overcompensate

Honestly, this is probably the best ADV map I've ever played. I like how everywhere I went there was detail in the architecture, the walls etc... this must've taken a very long time to make.

That is the plan. I was going to make a map inspired by (but not a replica of) L4D2, in same way I did this map. So it'll be swampy areas and plantations, with New Orleans architecture.

I'd like to know what editing mods did you use when creating this awesome map.

I live in Finland, and that means i speak and wrote bad english...

All I used was zombe's mod pack. Specifically I used just the fly mod and build mod to copy/paste in things.

I personally couldn't edit the spawners, so I had to have my boyfriend use MCEdit to change them. It's why there were ghast spawners in the first release. He thought it was funny, but they don't make for good L4D zombies.
