Rideable Pigs + Saddle Crafting (Mod)
Posted 08 October 2010 - 03:03 AM
* Pig doesn't swim very well now (use boat instead)
* Jump speed fixed
* Navigation improved. Still work in progress.
* Craftable saddles:
Where 'X' is leather. It is like an upside down version of the leather helmet.
The next update to Minecraft will disable this mod. Sorry.
Back up your minecraft.jar file. You need to open the minecraft.jar file using a zip utility like 7-zip, WinRar, Winzip. Copy and replace with the files in the zip file below. Remove all files in the META-INF folder except MANIFEST.MF (there should only be two files to delete).

I've been debating this. I originally had it doing that but removed it when I set up Saddle crafting. It makes sense that it should be dropped when the pig dies. When I make my next attempt at trying to improve pig handling I may put it back in.

But yeah, this is pretty cool - especially for all of us minecrafters who'd like to see controllable mounts in this game. Once you master the navigation thingamajingies, this'll be awesome - until Notch implements official ridable mobs, whether they be pigs or dragons.

You should make it so the crafting template is like

the ground shakes in its presence the wind stops blowing and the pigs give you there bacon and obsidian mines itself
