as i install more mods ill add to this list, thanks again for the awesome mod!
Are you going to add support for more portals than the 3 defaults? like make portals to another overworld? maybe linking save filessss? :biggrin.gif:
.... I'm thinking about linking save files, but what would be the best way to do that?
Maybe add in the config file five or so names of worlds to link up and set their colors and block frame ids?
If anyone has an opinion of a good way, post and it will help a lot.

i would definatly suggest intergrating your mod to be compatible with GuiAPI, where you can have options in game that would allow you to make and delete "dimensions". another good feature would to be able to customize what the new world would look like (simply having a Gui that could allow players to change what type of world whether it be a hell world, sky world, over world, or a barren desert, etc.) With the addition of each world, as the players create a new dimension, they would choose what type of block the portal would be made of, and what color the portal is. I would suggest that the player only be allowed to have 6 worlds (to restrict possible block id conflicts). If you would prefer, use the same setup you have now, have the players customize the portal with the config file in the .minecraft folder. Hope this helps :biggrin.gif:

I'll see if I can include the guiapi on the next update, but the save files will take a while.
I'm gonna first see if I can port it to Severs.
Updated a few things, some suggestions and some color changes to portals.

awesome man :biggrin.gif: now.. you didnt make a changelog lol.. it would be good if you also added a list that included future ideas and planned changes :smile.gif: ive got experience with photoshop and advanced movie editing software, if you want me to i can make videos demonstrating what your mods do and how they work :biggrin.gif: just let me know!
Edit: i am on vacation atm, wont be back home for another 3 days, if you do want a video or a banner or w/e i wont be able to make it for a few days :sad.gif:
Post Edit: now that i think about it, making this SMP compatible would be amazing :biggrin.gif: if you add support for multiple "overworlds" this really could get popular fast, this is definatly more user friendly than setting up multi-world or w/e lol keep up the awesome work!

If you want to make a banner, go for it,
But I don't really care for advertising,
I just want to make the best, whether people know or not.
If you could make a video that would be amazing, just whenever.
I'm not that great at tutorials, so that would be helpful.
I'll work on the smp next.
As well as the guiapi, probably gonna do the gui first then focus on the smp and overworlds.
Definitely gonna be interesting.....
Maybe you could start later on making world gen class files and dimensions for them.
And why a butter knife?
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Playing since Beta 1.3_01. Yeah. I like BTW. Or used to. Still do. Stuff Technic. (Back in the day...)

Probably going to see if I can use already made generators, just implement them.
Why not a butter knife?
Sounds fun to be tearing holes to other dimensions with a butter knife.
Your mod definatly has potential, keep it up man. Ill send you a link to the video when i get it done, and why not care for advertising? Getting your mod popular.. could generate revenue? Use Adfly lol make G-MONEYZ xD
If you do manage to get this ported to SMP, i have a server that you can test it on, the guys on my server are eager to test it :smile.gif:
This is mod did not work for me and i installed: Modloader
as I said before, the 0.7 version is PortalSprites forgot to add the folder, which contains the image ButterKnife.png
You can download version 0.6 or minecraft.jar simplenente create within a folder and inside that says PortalSprites add a png image (16x16 pixels) with the drawing you want.
Message to the author of the mod I like your portal, in particular that one can configure the material they are made, while the color of the doors dimensional
However, you should add a ide to differentiate dimensional blocks of the walls, because the block nether dimension couple will go to 90, there must be 90:1 for the block id dimensional surface and 90:2 for the sky realm (actually does exist, but are not properly defined)
On the other hand I see the sky realm somewhat lonely arbloes just 1 or 2, you can not think anything you can add? maybe a new ore for instance

Sorry my internet has been buggy and I've been extremely distracted recently.
I'm updating the download to include the Sprite, (I'm an idiot for forgetting it)
and I'm working on connecting save files.
The save files is going well, but Minecraft wasn't really made for it so it might take a while.
having a problem. when you have the mod installed and you leave the nether on a server, the sky remains "nether-red".
I don't know if that's the mod fault.
I actually had that problem on a non modded server that I was on.
I respawned and the sky was red for me and no one else.
Could be packet problems between client and server.

no problem, any error happens.
regarding the configuration of the material of the portals, I suggest obsidian, gold ore and iron ore by default, because they are relatively easy to find. (besides the portal wool will burn too fast in the nether)
another question: have you thought about putting some rare minerals or trees in sky realm?

That won't be too difficult, I'll implement it in the next update.
I think I might make portals to different save files out of wool, just different colors for each.
Maybe two or three for each portal so you can make really weird ones.
Not really, I am more focused on making all the realms more accessible.
I know that diamonds are near impossible to find in the sky realm, and they're at the bottom,
so I might modify those, but I think I'll probably just make two other realms to go to,
probably an underground one with minerals scattered throughout every level, just some more common.
The other, I'm not really sure about but probably gonna try and find a way to make a lunar landscape,
might add in new blocks then and i'll add in some diamond equivalent or better ores in the sky.
But I have to figure out what the heck is going on with the save portal code....
It's getting aggravating, but I think I'll be able to finish it within a week.
Probably sooner, if my internet doesn't decide to be evil again, I'll have it up as soon as I finish.
EDIT:
There are trees in the sky realm, but they're not so common, probably because of the height.
I think I can edit that and maybe add in some other creatures, besides the annoying chickens.
Yep, its the actual sky world that notch made and put in the code. I just opened it up.
What other dimensions could there be?
I'll work on it, can you tell me what mods you are using along with it?
I can't make it completely compatible with industrial craft, but I can add a work around for it.
I could do the same for minecraft extended.

in the mod folder is missing PortalSprites, which contain the image ButterKnife.png
you can try installing the version 0.6 of this mod and then install the version on the 0.7, I leave the link here:
triple portal ver.0.6
in advance, I apologize to the author by posting a link the old mod, I ask you to understand the problem
