Hey there Minecrafters! This is my first mod, I hope you enjoy it!

Epicinium v1.01:

This mod is intended to be a fun challenge for the most dedicated Minecrafters.
If you can handle mining hundreds of Diamonds, taking more than just a few trips to the Nether and then hanging around near lava, then this is what you're after!

This mod will add the following:

+ Epicinium Blocks (crafted from: 3x Glowstone, 3x Diamond Block, 3x Obsidian)
(You need 6 of these blocks for a sword, that's 18x diamond blocks!)
+ Epicinium Ingots (crafted by smelting Epicinium blocks)
+ Epicinium Armor (crafted with Epicinium Ingots in the usual way)
+ Epicinium Sword (crafted with two full rows of Epicinium Ingots, and a stick bottom center)

Known Bugs:

- Achievements (Do not function as of 1.01 for MC 1.8.1 -- I'm trying to fix this)

The Epicinium block itself is only fairly strong (diamond pick mines it in only 3-ish seconds) but it's remarkably explosion-resistant (slightly more than obsidian).

The Epicinium sword is a 1-hit-kill, and never depletes. Regardless of the enemy, this is one sword you'll want to keep with you. (I'm going to make it good at mining too, but, ahem... I haven't figured that out yet)

The Epicinium armor is on-par with Diamond. It was originally going to have abilities (eg- no fall damage) but all my attempts at that have failed. This feature will be added ASAP. For now though, if you earn it, store it! ;)

This mod requires ModLoader to run, so hopefully you'll get no conflicts!

That's all the basic information you'll need. Installation instructions are included with the download!

Downloads:

[1.8.1] Epicinium (v1.01)
[1.7.3] Epicinium (v1)

To Do List:

+ Fix current Achievement bugs
+ Add armor-specific abilities (eg- sprint, no fall damage, max air)
+ Change sword mine speed (should be about as fast as diamond)
+ Relocate Achievements (currently laid out in one big line, when they should be branched)
+ Add New Achievements (including milestones for different amounts of Epicinium)
+ Add Stats (show how much you've mined)
+ Add Epicinium Tools (diamond strength, more durable)
+ Remake Armor texture
+ Modify Epicinium block recipe
+ Add Epicinium ore

Thanks for looking, and enjoy earning Epicinium stuff (or TMI-ing it...)
If you spot any bugs, or just think you know how to make this mod better, then say so!
I'm always looking for new suggestions, modding help and bug reports!

-Alex.

Awesome! I'm totally downloading this; was this inspired by Terraria?
George Washington was the first president.
Okay, I'll buy it.
There are billions of stars in our galaxy.
I believe that too.
Columbus sailed to the New World in 1492.
He sure did.
Careful, sir, the plate is hot.
...Let's test this one out.

Thanks!
It wasn't inspired by Terraria. Is it similar? (I'm not familiar with the game)

Go to this thread for armor abilities: http://zidmc.x10.bz/....php?f=15&t=409

It's on another site, but it really helps. By the way, your firewall might block the site because it is a free domain site where other pages under the domain name have had viruses or other things. Hopefully you go there and discover all of the cool things on the site!

Well it's only big because I wanted it to require more than 2 blocks on top. It seemed kinda weird using 6 blocks and getting a regular sized sword :) And yeah, it does much higher damage (It's an instant kill weapon). It doesn't have a slow swing (is that possible? If you know how send me a message, I'd like to implement that).

Haha, that's actually the tutorial I was using! I just couldn't make it work, but I'll re-read the thread, I guess I must've missed something. Thanks for the help :)

Slower swing would make it more like it's heavy but i havent seen that yet. (well of course it's so heavy since u use 6 ingots to craft it. 3x more weight than regular swords XD. Don't think herobrine is that buff to swing epicinium swords just like swords 3x lighter.)

I don't suppose you know how to implement a slower swing/cooldown time? I can't seem to find anything on adding an effect like that.

It's a cool idea, but 162 diamonds is a hell of a lot to mine for one sword. Have you considered making it more accessible? I know you wanted it to be a challenge but maybe you could have two versions of the mod. One with your original recipe and a "lite" version. The lite version recipe could be something like::

Posted Image

That would still cost 52 diamonds, 48 glowstone dust, 36 obsidian and a stick to make. If you feel that's too easy, maybe a happy medium somewhere in between.

I hope you consider it anyway. It's a nice mod.

Yeah, I've thought about changing the recipe, but I really like the challenge it offers. At the moment, the pay-off is a bit lacking, but I'm still working on the mod, and soon I hope the features added will justify the huge amount of effort it requires.

That said, a "lite" version as you mentioned is a great idea, and I think I might go ahead and create that for the next update.
