Today's HowTo Tutorial comes from a request by lipeckiz and they wanted me to come with buildings that you would expect to see in and around a seaside or fishing port and after exchanging several PMs this is what I have created. I plan on showing 10 different buildings and structures over the next 3 parts. (See Below) Part 1 will be the easiest of the 3 parts and will contain the smallest parts of the builds.
Due to the large amount of pictures, I have placed the steps for each in a spoiler.
Part 1: Street Lights Old Sailor's Pueblo :RFlower:"Town Center" Fish Cleaning Station Part 2: Storage Unit 1 Storage Unit 2 Storage Unit 3 Part 3: Dock (basics) Rental Tent General Store
HowTo: Build a Fishing Port (Part 1/3)
First I will show the "Town Center." This is nothing elaborate just something I used to brighten up both ends of the street.
To build this you will need:
16 Mossy Cobblestone
4 Dirt
1 Glowstone
1 Fence
2 Yellow Flowers
2 Red Roses
4 Buckets of Water
1 Pickaxe, Shovel, or Axe In Case of Mistakes
Step 1.) Dig a 5x5x1 hole and place the Mossy Cobblestone around it.
Step 2.) Place the 4 Dirt. Put 1 in each corner.
Step 3.) Place the Glowstone in the center and put the Fence on top. This adds light and almost gives it a fountain feel.
Step 4.) Place the 4 Flowers on top of the Dirt.
Step 5.) Place the 4 Buckets of Water in the remaining holes, and done!
Next I'll show you how to make the Fish Cleaning Station. I would recommend placing this next to the water and close to the dock.
To build you need:
14 Wooden Planks
1 Chest
8 Fences
10 Wooden Slabs
6 Stone
6 Slabs
6 Torches
1 Stone Pressure Plate
1 Piston
1 Bucket of Water
1 Pickaxe, Shovel, or Axe In Case of Mistakes
Step 1.) Dig a 3x2x1 hole
Step 2.) Fill it with the Stone
Step 3.) Place 4 Wooden Planks as shown in the picture
Step 4.) Place the Chest in between the Wooden Planks on one side, and the Piston with the Stone Pressure Plate in front of it on the other side
Step 5.) Dig a 3x1x1 hole in front of the Stone and place a Bucket of Water in the center. This will create a rushing water sound for some ambiance :laugh.gif:
Step 6.) Cover the hole filled with water with the 6 Stone Slabs
Step 7.) Place the 8 Fences, 2 high, on each corner then place 5 Wooden Slabs on top across the front
Step 8.) Place the last 10 of the Wooden Planks on top
Step 9.) Place the last 5 Wooden Slabs on top of the last row of Wooden Planks to finish the roof
Step 10.) Place the Torches to provide light and you are done!
Next lets build the Street Lights. Place these next to your roads and enough to light the place up. :wink.gif: These are incredibly simple especially now that you can stack Fences, and also if you want to mix it up you can replace the Wooden Planks with Glowstone and instead of Torches you can put a Stone Slab on top.
Like I said, this is simple. All you need is:
2 Fences
1 Wooden Planks
4 Torches
1 Pickaxe, Shovel, or Axe In Case of Mistakes
Step 1.) Place 1 Fence
Step 2.) Stack the last Fence on top of it
Step 3.) Place a Wooden Plank on top of the Fence
Step 4.) Place 4 Torches, 1 on each side of the Wooden Planks and you are done!
Finally we will build a small cabin, I nicknamed it the Old Sailors Cottage, but you could easily but a few on a hill looking over the ocean and call them Rental Cabins? :laugh.gif:
To build this you need:
12 Logs 75 Wooden Planks
7 Glass
6 Torches
1 Wooden Door
1 Chest
1 Furnace
1 Crafting Table
1 Bed
4 Paintings
1 Red Wool
1 Pickaxe, Shovel, or Axe In Case of Mistakes
Step 1.) Mark a 6x6 area with 3 Logs stacked in each corner
Step 2.) Place Wooden Planks all around the bottom leaving an opening for the door
Step 3.) Place Wooden Planks all around the top
Step 4.) On the side with the door place 2 Wooden Planks on each end
Step 5.) Turn to the side and do the same
Step 6.) Turn to the back and repeat Step 4
Step 7.) Do the same as above on the final side
Step 8.) Place the Glass in all the holes in the side leaving space for the door
Step 9.) Climb onto the roof and place Wooden Planks leaving a 1 block border (4x4)
Step 10.) Do the same thing as Step 9 only bring it in 1 more block (2x2)
Step 11.) Place 4 Torches on top and 1 next to the door
Step 12.) Replace the floor with the Wooden Planks and the Red Wool, Place the Wool in front of the door to act as a floor mat
Step 13.) Place the door
Step 14.) Furnish home using remaining items, and you are DONE!
This Concludes Part 1 of HowTo - Build a Fishing Port. Part 2 will be coming out soon :smile.gif:

I "reserved" the second post in case I wanted to post some other information in the future, like questions people asked, ideas for future builds etc, I posted this at 2:30am last night and went straight to bed afterwards so I havent got around to filling it out yet
Thank so much, Truffles! My electricity as well as many others' has been off for the past 3 days. Everyday I was anxious to get on so I could read your new HowTo :biggrin.gif:
Thanks again :biggrin.gif:

No problem m8, glad I could finally get it out :laugh.gif: Part 2 (hopefully :tongue.gif:) will be out tonight or tomorrow
Truffes I am in serious need of storage, need 2nd part :biggrin.gif:
They're nothing to big lol, each one only has 3 "double" chests in them, but with a little modification (which with these will be easy to do) more can be added
These tutorials are great! I'm planning on making a small village, and you can be sure it will include all of these :smile.gif:.
I am also going to use the Well and Barn tutorials to mix it up a bit.
Although I am not quite sure about the mossy stone for the town centre. Maybe clean stone slabs?
