I am sorry ive been searching for while now. Both for the folder and through the forums. and i can't seem to find any help. so i need to ask for some help. i can't find my .minecraft folder. ive tried searching for it normally. Doing the %appdata% in the search and trying advanced search. I just cant seem to find it. i dont even remember minecraft asking me if it wanted to make a folder when i downloaded it. It was just the .exe file and ran right away without any set up. Oh and to help out if anyone knows i am running windows vista 64 bit. If anyone can tell me i will be very appreciative.

Are you an administrator on your computer?

Also, try going to the "Run" dialog and typing %appdata% in there.

It automatically makes the folder, just like every other program, and it literally holds the application data of the Minecraft .exe.

As per finding it, if Search\Run\%appdata% does not show all your application data folders or if .minecraft is not in there, you may need to enable viewing for hidden folders.
