The Pack of DorianGREY -
This is a pack that is inspired by a variety of things, a lot from johnsmith, glimmar, doku and the other brilliant artists on the forums, other bits are inspired by celtic architecture, lore and stylings, as well as gothic or dark fantasy influences. This is very much a work in progress so be constructive with critique and you will find me a lot more accommodating.
This is very much a WIP and is subject to change at my whims.

Jolicraft - a happy go lucky pack with a fantastic colour palette.
Norsecraft - One of my favourite 16x packs, norse theme, great artist, all round quality stuff.
Elds Pack - one of the first packs I used, is and always will be one of the best.
Frendens Detailed Pack - this guy is an amazing pixel artist, the best vibrant pack around.
Wayukian - this is a great pack with some of my favourite armours ever.
XSSheeps Packs - three great flavours of pixel goodness.

John Smiths The epitome of texture packs. Has been my default pack since it was released and will continue to be inspiration for me.
Glimmars Steampunk - for all your steam punk needs, with a creator that is all about his fans and the quality of his work. Pop over and check out his thread, offer him a cup of tea.
Steel Feathers Packs- the enchanted pack and the lost valley are some of the most stunning pieces of work on these forums and should be admired by all!
64x and above - as I dont use these there is not many I know of, but these 3 packs/artists I fully endorse. Aaegons Pack list- any and all of this mans work is stunning, a true HD master.
LB PHOTO REALISM - I remember this pack way back when it was a weeeee new one, and now look how its grown.
Swiss Rustic - two brothers working on this great pack, the are also fantastic members of the community, go support them.

WARNING THIS POST IS SCREENSHOT HEAVY! HYP
I was wondering if you were one and the same. :smile.gif:
Aw...having to re-register under another name is really frustrating. I thought that was going to happen to me when trying to use the new forums...it failed a few times then got sorted somehow...can't remember what i did now, but you have my sincere sympathies, mate. :sad.gif:
Well, when this pack is famous, as I'm sure it will be and I'm retired and fancy free, I'll be able to post and say to everyone, "I remember when dorianGREY used to post in my thread. Back in the good old days". :biggrin.gif:
I'll be popping in and seeing how yer doing as often as I can, and I'll try not to be annoying! :tongue.gif:

Hoorah, I look forward to your input. I am also dreading doing water and lava hahaha.
Awesome pack, just one little thing. The stone texture looks great on it's own, but it doesn't really tile well. A little tweaking can fix that, and good tiling separates the good packs from the great packs. (plus, proper tiling is a pet peeve of mine, so I always notice it >.>)
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
"Some scientists claim that hydrogen, because it is so plentiful, is the basic building block of the universe. I dispute that. I say that there is more stupidity than hydrogen, and that is the basic building block of the universe." -Frank Zappa
I really like this texture pack, it has the more "realistic" RPG style feel (to me anyways) and I look forward to seeing this done, good luck and keep up the awesome work.

tiling in the stone? Its very rough stone with some odd sharp edges, it may need a slight tweak but I have grown to love the jaggies in it, I will see what I can come up with, my brain is taking a darker course with the pack at the moment. Cheers for the critique.
A little blurred. And maybe needs a bit more contrast. Great job though!
Im not big on hard edges, it like dokus, and even some of john smith, I am going for a bit more natural look, I will work on the contrast when the terrain png is complete, and tweak it all then. Thanks for the feedback.

Thank you. I didnt want another carbon copy of the famous packs around, so I am trying to fill a hole that I personally love.
Very nice work so far! I look forward to seeing it in a completed state.
I might recommend, though, that you contrast the overall softness with a few hard edges. I think that will really make your work pop!
Hmm, I will work on the contrasts and stuff when I have more of the terrain done, I can see what your saying. I do love the soft edges in some places though. Thanks for the comment mango, keep up the great work.
as for ...
0.2 - it is just a media update I decided. Just to let you see how I'm going with textures.
Mossy Stone -
Saplings (very WIP)-
Pine Leaves -
and a new screen to show off the glass and iron door with the new mossy cobblestone.
not 100% on how much free time I will have over the next few days but I will try and work on the pack when I can. Good night internet.
Great looking pack so far, has the potential to be one of the greats!
Only thing I have a problem with is the stone, I prefer smooth stone being..well, smooth :smile.gif:. I think it looks a lot nicer, especially when building with it, but this is just a personal preference. The texture itself is still great.
Also, love those iron doors. Keep up the good work

cheers dan, I cant give you a time frame at all, but I will be trying to get the terrain done before anything.
thanks mate, glad you like it.
AH how could I forget the famous glimmar in my inspiration list. *runs to add it*
I used to post on your pack, back in the very early days of it, but curse crudded up my account so now I am dorianGREY326 rather than just dorianGREY.
blah.
Also -
*small update with trapdoors, ladders (not happy with them), a few tweaks, pine leaves and maybe some more.

I was rather chuffed with my doors and glass, the new trapdoor is much in the vein of those.
Thank you so much.
The update coming tonight will also include snow and ice.

Hey Dorian...nice to see you here again. Great looking work so far.
