What am I doing wrong? I have edited my server's MOTD, have followed the instructions in the first post, and decided to test things out. Now I got this...
um i tried putting &cHello.&e Build&d something&a fairly&b epic! into my server which has llama and hey 0 on it, but it doesn't show colors but rather it just shows those symbols as part of the text when you join the game
this is awesome, except for the fact I DONT KNOW HOW TO MAKE A MOTD in the first place! please please help me out asap i need to get this on as my server is going right now
Ever since I started my tiny private server, the MOTD has not worked under server.properties. All the true/false settings I made are functioning, but the straight text options like server-name=[yournamehere] and motd=[yourmessagehere] never show like they are advertised. Once I get it to show UP, THEN I'll play with the colors.

For example, MCAdmin uses § for the color codes.
Just do some research and figure out what symbol your specific server software uses for color codes are.

Linux or Windows? You're editing server.properties right?
