Originally made by ZGA, the Repair My Items mod lets you smelt anything that loses durability - picks, swords, armor, etc - in a furnace to make it like new. ZGA grew bored of Minecraft in 1.6.6 *cough*terraria modding*cough*, and abandoned the mod. Now that Minecraft has updated to 1.7(.3), the original mod no longer works. I recreated the mod from scratch for my own personal use, and decided to upload it, with ZGA's permission of course.
There are currently a total of 48 repairable items: All 5 of each tool, all armor types including chain, fishing rods, flint & steels, and shears.
When you break glass, you receive 2-4 glass shards, which can be crafted in a 2x2 shape into glass, and when you break ice, you receive 1 ice shard, which can be crafted in a 3x3 shape into ice.
By default, the item id for glass shards is 14278 and the id for ice shards is 14279. If you need to change these, a config file is created in "\.minecraft\config\" when you run the mod for the first time.
I'm happy with the glass shard texture, but the ice shard could use some work. Can anyone make a better texture?
Originally inspired by this suggestion thread, Colored Frosting for Cake!TM makes cake dyeable! With one normal cake and a dye of your choice, you can craft any color you want! I've been working on this mod on and off for months. It's the reason I took up modding, which means, if it weren't for this mod, Repair My Items wouldn't have been revived. :ohmy.gif: You can also use the alternate crafting recipes (yellow cake plus red dye equals orange cake, green cake plus bonemeal equals lime dye, etc.).

Try making a mod that uses an anvil (with custom GUI) instead. In my forges an anvil would look great. Ask one the RPG CraftBukkit pluggin makers for help with their code. I have a server mod that uses iron blocks as anvils but maybe you could make it SSP and make a decent looking anvil.
Sounds like a great mod. A reasonable trade off too as you have to gauge when to repair an item. The ey.class doesn't clash with any of my other mods which is good.
Haven't installed yet but the shears come to mind as an item that may have been missed, as its a recent addition. hopefully not.
Will post again when I've had some fun using your mod.
i gues people dont trust the mod becouse no vid here is my review:
i hope you like it its my first mod review so dont think its a great movie and the sound ****s
Great video! It's probably possible to somehow make this mod instantly compatible with all tools, but I don't know how to write java. I just copied and pasted the vanilla furnace recipes and changed the items involved. I'll eventually add mod support. Is it okay if I add that video to the original post?
This mod gets my full support, thanks for continuing it.
And btw, i tried terraria modding, it was too easy so im back to playing minecraft a little bit, i might do some mods in the future, don't even play terraria anymore :biggrin.gif:
Iv also edited my thread with a link in the main post so people will come here for the updated version.
Thanks for your support! Too easy? Last I checked, terraria modding wasn't even allowed! Can I add that banner in your sig to the original thread?
thnx it whas my first modding video and first fraps didnt work and then hypercam sound didnt work and i whas getting pissed off more and more and more but i fixed fraps now so . . . if people got mods and they want a mod revieuw from it call me :biggrin.gif:
No problem! I embedded the video in the original post.
I have decided to begin work on a secret project that will help me learn many things about modding. The mod is from an old suggestion thread that I will link if I can figure out how to make the mod. Wish me luck!
My computer can't handle a server, so I released a beta version of this mod for smp. This is untested, and for some reason "shears" wasn't a recognized variable, so they are not smeltable (if anyone knows why, pm me). Be sure to leave feedback on whether it works or not!
I'd be willing to test it on my server, but I'm a bit confused as to how to set it up. Could you maybe add some more information in the first post? Thanks.

I don't have a server so I'm not positive, but I think you just put the class file provided in the download in the server's jar file and delete the META-INF folder, just like SSP.
Thank you if you took the time to read this, and once again, GREAT MOD!
You posted this in the right place. Thanks for the feedback! The ey.class is the FurnaceRecipes.java, so this mod is incompatible with any other mod that adds smelting recipes. I could probably make this only use a mod_xxx.class file (as an alternate download). I'll look into it.

Thank you very much indeed for replying, and indeed for replying so quickly. I really do appreciate it, and your effort. Especially because you are doing this for no payment.
Once again great mod, and thank you very much!

since dyes have damage values does anything happen if you put them in a furnace, or did you just mean tools and such?
I meant just tools and such. I'll rephrase that.

Thanks to everyone supporting the mod! :biggrin.gif:
I forgot about shears, they're on my to-do list.

I'll work on it after I finish the secret project. I have no idea how, otherwise I'd just do it now.

Thanks, hopefully now someone who downloads the smp version will actually tell me whether it works or not.
EDIT Guess not :dry.gif:

I am sorry if I am posting this in the wrong place, im new to the forums. Anyhow, I would just like to compliment your mod and ask if there is any chance you can sort out the incompatibility with the More ore drops mod; http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/176557-173-more-ores-v066-updated/page__st__2060__p__4515185__hl__moreores__fromsearch__1#entry4515185
It appears that they both have the ey.class and only one of them can work at time.
Thank you if you took the time to read this, and once again, GREAT MOD!
