GardenCraft!
This mod is designed to turn that small garden into a beautiful place to sit when the sun is out!

Sometimes fences can look boring, or out of place, those beautiful gardens you wanted a nice hedge for, or even to make a maze!
The purpose of this mod is to make good looking gardens. without leaves de-spawning, it also plays on making a use for being able to shear leaves off trees.
Over time i will add different types of block which i believe personally would add to a nice looking garden (such as decorative blocks for paths.)
More blocks to come!

UPDATE IN PROGRESS!!!

Get the BETA download!*

Thats right, the mod is being updated to 1.6.2! But it isn't just a crappy rushed release this time, nope.

I'm fully re-writing the code from scratch.

Yes I know I said June but I needed time to relax too, and now things are working and I'm happy.

The update will be coming within a month or too hopefully, click me to see my progress (last post).

*WARNING!!!!!!

This is a beta release, it is not designed to be stable yet.

Also, there are a lot of features missing, but I wanted to get a sample out to the public for you to test for me as I will be away on holidays this month, its unfair to make you wait too long.

[29/12/2012] Version 4.6.5 update, bug fixes and stuff

[25/12/2012] Now updated to 1.4.6, Merry Christmas!

[01/11/2012] The mod is now 1.4.2 compatible!

[31/10/2012] Updating the mod to 1.4.2 compatible now. Sorry for the stupid delay.

[18/08/2012] Updated to 1.3.2 (version 4.6.2) no extra blocks and things yet though, just an update, things to come.

[18/08/2012] Forge is updated, working on porting the mod to 1.3.2 now. Should be a release at end of today if all goes well.

[04/08/2012] So 1.3.1 is out, I'm just waiting for Forge API to update.

========Videos========

Thanks to Isaac_x for this very in depth video of the latest version.

Thanks to Jamie1051FTW for this video.

Thanks to Brattus123 for this video.

========Download========

This mod uses the Forge API, INCLUDING its built in Forge-Modloader hooks. Therefore Modloader (on its own) is no longer a dependency, but is still compatible.

Without these dependencies the mod will NOT work, also, if you get any form of error or crash COPY YOUR ERROR LOG (.minecraft/modloader.txt)

If you don't give me this error log I can't help you, because I can't read your mind.

If you ignore or don't read the above message then I wont help you at all, its in red for a reason.

Latest Version:

GardenCraft V4.6.7 (1.4.7)

Multiplayer release!!!

Sooner than we think, because forge has integrated server thingies Posted Image

Last 2 versions

GardenCraft V4.6.6 (1.4.6) [Not 1.4.7]

GardenCraft V4.6.5 [1.4.6]

Old Versions

GardenCraft V4.6.4 [1.4.6]

GardenCraft V4.6.3 [1.4.2]

GardenCraft V4.6.2 [1.3.2]

GardenCraft V4.6.1 [1.2.5]

GardenCraft V.4.6.0 [1.2.5]

GardenCraft V4.4.1 [1.1]

GardenCraft V4.3.3 [1.0.0]

GardenCraft V4.2.0 [1.8.1]

========Installation========
Make sure you installed ModLoader first and forge api.
Copy all the .class files into your minecraft.jar.
Then copy the "GardenCraft" folder (found in the textures folder) into the minecraft.jar
DO NOT copy the whole textures folder, else it will not work.

If your using MagicLauncher, extract all the .class files and the "GardenCraft" folder into a separate .zip file (for it to read the mod it needs to be so that when you open the .zip you immediately see .class files and this folder)

========Frequently Asked Questions========

Q: Do you know about the changing textures bug?
A: Its not a bug...It's intended to keep everyone happy with the texture choice.

Q: It wont work I get a black screen!
A: Post your error log. IF you don't post an error log I refuse to help you at all.

Q: It doesn't work with X's mod, can you make it compatible?
A: If its possible then yes. If I have to speak to the other modder I will, but if they don't co-operate. No.

Q: Can you add "______" into the game?
A: I am always open to suggestions...

Q: Can you make it SMP?
A: The mod currently has a lot being added rather quickly. I will release SMP Beta's from time to time depending on how much I have to do for the SSP version.

Q: Can you split the X and Y into two mods? I only want X.
A: No, requires too much time to split one mod into several, and maintain them. I have a life too.

Q: Can I use this in a modpack?
A: No, thank you for being considerate and asking, but I like to keep track of the mod as an individual item so I can monitor downloads and make quick fix releases etc.

Q: I get an error saying textures are missing!
A: You've probably copied the entire textures folder into your minecraft.jar. I would suggest actually READING the instructions on this page for help.

========COPYRIGHT========
I'd like to point out that ideas in this mod are all my own, I have had no influence from other mods in terms of blocks and that any blocks i may add to this mod are under copyright of myself ©.

I have a banner now! Yes the mod may only be small at the moment, but support is great and it motivates me to do more Posted Image

Polite Request

I'm going to be using Adfly from now on, I know I don't agree with it entirely but I really need the support now, I'm going to university soon and the costs of that plus car insurance etc is going to hit me financially. I'm sorry, but I really hope you can accept this and understand. It is only 5 seconds to wait. Posted Image

Hedge Mod!
The concept is simple, bringing a use for leaves to minecraft!

Sometimes fences can look boring, or out of place, those beautiful gardens you wanted a nice hedge for, or even to make a maze!

This is my first mod, and i intend to add to it as much as i can.

Download
HedgeMod_V1.0 [1.7.3]

Installation
1) open your minecraft.jar file (appdata/roaming/.mincraft/bin)
2) copy both the /class file and the .png into the minecraft.jar
3) Enjoy!

To craft a hedge place 3 leaf block above 3 fence blocks (gives 2 hedges)

This mod requires ModLoader, if you don't have it then your game will crash on load.

Feel free to post any ideas you may have and i will try my best to make them :)

CHANGELOG:
V1.0 - Initial Release!

Planned Features:
- Make the hedge non-climbable like fences
- Create hedge halfblocks (to top hedges)

Just place a Leave Block above a Wood Log ????????????

This is way to much for just a simple hedge!

I don't think you get the point of the mod; the leaves wont de-spawn if they are hedges. Also, squeezing in logs is annoying.

Yes this is possible without a mod however that requires you to put a lot of logs under it which i see this as a nice alternative.

It also (soon hopefully) will stop players/mobs jumping over the hedge block, thus being better than just placing leaves.

It can be done, what texture pack are you using so i know what it needs to fit in with.

I'm also working on transparency for the default block but this wont be released until ive done the rest of the coding :)

Mod has been updated to V1.5
Adds a transparent texture (optional, included in download)
Mobs and players can no longer jump over the hedge!
Crafting needs reduced, only 1 leaf block and 1 fence block required instead of 3.

Please add any suggestions for additional blocks!

Is it possible to make it so that the mod uses the leaf texture in the terrain.png of the texture pack you're using? So that if i was using Painterly (which I do) it would use the leaves I have in Painterly? Thanks.

Latest update is out, V 2.0.
Textures are set to the texture pack you use. initial textures are no longer included in the download as they are not needed.
A new block has also been added.

I really like how that slate block looks. Unfortunately, the texture is not included in the download. Could you add it, please? Or tell me where I can get it?

Thanks for the quick reply! But now I have the next problem: I can place the slate blocks just fine, but when I try to break them with a pickaxe, Minecraft crashes with a "Saving Chunks" screen, and then displays just a black window (no error log). Any idea what's going on there?

Edit: Nevermind. It was probably some other mod's fault. Reinstalling ScotTools solved the problem.

Love the slate block. Thanks!
