Hey, Minecraft Forum Community. I am a new modder with some good ideas. I will mainly be making mods that should be in the game, but aren't, along with helping out with a pokemon mod. (You can find that URL Here)
Feel free to post desired changes or other ideas for mods. I'll do whatever I can, I mean it. I will also put the name of whoever suggested the mod in the readme for that mod and/or on this page if they so desire. To submit an idea, pm me or email me at [email protected]. The topic of the pm should be Mod Idea.
Anyway, here are the mods. They are all compatible with any 1.7 version.
Credit to Spaman for this idea. It allows for compact storage of cobblestone. The texture is subject to change, but that was the best I could do. I don't really like it, but I wanted to release it. It uses block ID 239.
For comparison:
Recipe:
Compressed Dirt:
Credit to Spaman for this idea. It allows for compact storage of Dirt. Again, the texture is subject to change, but that was the best I could do. I don't really like it, but I wanted to release it today. It uses block ID 238.
For comparison:
Recipe:
DiamondCraft with Coal Block:
The coal block is sort of like the iron, gold, or diamond blocks; it saves space in your inventory. I am working on making it smelt 72 items. Credit to MinecraftNewbie for this idea and Azathoth for the diamond recipe. It is also used in the crafting of diamonds. It uses block ID 237.
The Recipes
FlintCraft:
This mod enables direct smelting of flint from gravel so you don't have to waste time and shovels.
The recipe:
GrassCraft:
Ever wanted to be able to place grass instead of having to wait for it to spread? Now you can.
The recipe:
It looks weird in your inventory, but when placed it looks perfectly normal. I can't fix that, only Notch can.
GunpowderCraft:
The Poll showed that people wanted craftable Gunpowder, so I did it. I also tried to keep the balance.
The recipe:
MossCraft:
Now you can craft mossy cobblestone without having to find dungeons. Credit to my annoying little brother for bugging me until I made this mod.
The recipe:
ObsidianCraft:
This mod is for people who can't find obsidian or hate taking forever to mine it.
The recipe:
The bucket is not consumed.
SaddleCraft:
Now you can craft Saddles without having to find dungeons.
The recipe:
SlimeCraft:
Credit to JamieH93 for this idea. I have never actually seen a slime without single player command abuse, so this is a pretty good idea what with sticky pistons and all.
The recipe:
StringCraft:
The idea is that spiders are hard to find and hard to kill, so it makes it easier to get string so you can make a bow or fishing pole earlier in the game. However, it does come at a cost so that it isn't just an even exchange because you can craft string into wool. I don't know though. I can change that in about 20 seconds to something you guys like better (say, removing the sticks or giving more string), so feel free to post desired changes.
The recipe:
It works with all colors of wool, in case anyone was wondering.
WebCraft:
Stupid Notch put in webs without a way to get them. This fixes that. I also made it so it drops webs when sheared instead of string. EDITS rn.class, MAY CAUSE INCOMPATIBILITY ISSUES.
The recipe:
WoodCraft:
I was bored so I made it so you can craft sticks back into planks and planks back into wood.
The recipes:
Bookshelves now drop bookshelves when broken:
Self explanatory. Credit to AussieElmo for this idea. DOES NOT REQUIRE MODLOADER AND THEREFORE MAY CAUSE COMPATIBILITY ISSUES - EDITS hb.class
No annoying message:
Gets rid of the annoying message when you are offline, logged in elsewhere, Minecraft.net is down, or your brother is on the computer downstairs using your account. I do not encourage piracy.
DOES NOT REQUIRE MODLOADER AND THEREFORE MAY CAUSE COMPATIBILITY ISSUES - EDITS vu.class
If you would like my consent to use my work in any way other than what is clearly stated here, pm me or email me at [email protected] explaining why you want permission and how you intend to use this permission.
By giving me an idea for a mod you consent to my use of said idea in any way I choose, including, but not limited to, posting the completed mod on the internet, making money off of it through adf.ly or other advertising services, and selling the mod for monetary gain. (The last one probably won't happen.)
I give permission for people to do a "Mod Revival Thread" if and only if it has been 2 major updates and 1 week since the last time my mods were updated. (e.g. if the last update was in version 1.7, one week after 1.9 is released others may use my work. This would not apply from 1.7.1 to 1.7.3 and one week.) The only rule is that the work must still be credited to me, and once I update, it must be taken down.
I am part of a mod developing team. (in charge of coding) I take ideas so pm me if you have a mod you want made but dont know how to mod. The subject should be mod idea.
Also, your face. That is all.

OK guys I added ObsidianCraft and DiamondCraft to the downloads. Could some people post their opinions so I know whether or not I should make changes?

I think the diamond craft one is a little OP if ya know what i mean...i think like a better recipe could be like 9 coal = ??? and the 9 ??? = ???? and that ???? cooked or something could be a diamond
I have to agree, it makes diamonds far too easy to make.
I also agree with having a piston as a part of the recipe.
I like the idea of forming a block of coal (which would also make storing coal a lot more convenient, hint hint). Though, I think that the redstone in MinecraftNewbie's recipe should be removed. Instead, fill every space but the space not taken up by the coal or piston with lava buckets. Alternatively, Put the coal block in the middle, with pistons on it's four sides, with lava buckets in the corners.
Regardless, I think using a piston in the recipe is a great idea. Between the pistons and the lava buckets, it makes it so that you need a decent amount of iron and you have to at least have mined to redstone in order to get your diamond.
Ok, guys, these are some great Ideas, and it is finally creating interest among the community. I'll do that soon, I'll just finish a mob for the pokemon mod i'm helping out on first. Thanks for the support!

I will add the coal block as a separate mod for people that don't want to craft diamonds but the diamond crafting mod will require the coal block mod to work.

Alright, it looks like people want gunpowder to be craftable. I'll get on that.

So you're saying that it requires heat (the lava bucket) and pressure (the piston) like how diamonds are actually formed?
well, almost. it won't take tens of thousands of years to do this.

These mods should never be added to vanilla, they are completely unbalanced....
The diamonds one is going to be changed, because people gave good suggestions for them. if YOU think they're unbalanced, post an idea of how to fix it instead of trolling about it.
Also, I dont see how the gravel-flint mod is unbalanced in any way whatsoever. I can see arguments for the others, but there is no way FlintCraft is unbalanced.

I never intended to actually make bedrock craftable, that was just to see people's opinions about it, ftr.

Thank you for your quick response. There are great tutorials for learning how to start modding IF YOU KNOW JAVA. If you don't, the tutorials will be gibberish to you. Here is my favorite tutorial index: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/96862-creating-mods-modding-tutorials-21511/
