Remember RMob? Well he's back to Trick or Treat! But just for tonight. Just Add the following 2 Patches to a fully Installed & Patched CC 1.5.3 T4, or to a copy of that minecraft.jar, and make sure to have some cookies ready! There is also a warning in Robinton's post. :wink.gif:

** The info about how to customize the Terrain in the new version of the Cubic Chunks Mod has been updated in the post [ Here ].
- The location of this info will be moved into the OP's Terrain section soon.
The Cubic Chunks Mod for MC b1.8.1 has been updated to Test 5. Rivers have been returned to normal and new Default Terrain settings options have been included. The CubicChunksSettings file can now end in .txt for easier access. It can even be put directly into the minecraft.jar to replace the default, and you can also put one into a World Save folder to override the Default for that world. The 4096 BlockID Patch released for Test 4 can still be used for Test 5 if you wish to add that capability, but it is optional. Here is Robinton's announcement.
I cannot open the freaking Spoiler!!!!!!!!!!!!! SOMEONE HELP .-.
Ok, if you can't open any Spoilers it could be because your Internet browser has Javascript disabled. You will have to re-enable javascript then reload the web page for the "Show" button to the right of the word Spoiler to work when you click on it.
I just did a test; Went into the FireFox 7.x Tools->Options->Content Menu and un-checked the "Enable Javascript" item, third from the top, then clicked the [OK] button on the bottom left. Then I reloaded the web page with a spoiler on it. After doing that the spoiler would not open when I clicked on the "Show" button. I then did the opposite of everything I just listed to re-enable javascript then reloaded the web page and it worked again.
I hope that helps lelevado. There isn't anything more I can do on this end to help. If I didn't use spoilers in the OP to manage all the data in it then no one would ever be able to find anything or they would get too tired of scrolling for 5 minutes to find something. :wink.gif:
Here is a Spoiler right here that you can Test on when trying to re-enable your javascript:
Just to let you know, this mod isn't compatible with Industrial craft^2. when you place any of the machines or cable it says "saving chunks" and crashes. there is no erro report that i have seen for it in modloader. but ill keep looking.

It might have produced a CubicChunksError file of some sort in the .minecraft folder. If you find that please report this problem and the contents of that error file in Robinton's thread so that he can look into it. Thanks!
I have added the newest version of the World Save Converter, 1.5.2, to it's Downloads section. Several improvements and support for more formats.
* We need for people to please test it's new options for converting to & from the new Minecraft Extended Heights that the Fishtaco & DynamicHeight Mods use. The Converter will list these new Heights under the "Vanilla" drop-down. Please report any bugs, problems or Successes in Robinton's thread.
v 1.5.2World Save File Converter [ 2011-10-27 ] - Only use this version or newer for CC 1.5.2 and later. Supports CC Extended BlockID's format. Supports converting to & from Minecraft Extended Height format worlds (Linear chunks) [Not completely tested yet]. * It will also auto-copy those 3 files at the end of conversion (Fully automatic).

Please tell me someone has approached codewarrior about MCEdit. With higher worlds, a good standalone editor is a must. World Edit is good, but when it comes to dealing with super large schematics, it just cannot handle them. Not to mention how fast MCEdit can edit a large map in general.
Four things I'm keeping an eye on:
CubicChunks
MCEdit
Optifine
HD textures

codewarrior is definitely aware of the Cubic Chunks Mod and he has made a couple references to adding support for it, but it won't be easy and he's not looking forward to it and he has other things to do on MCEdit too.
* The more people who keep asking codewarrior about Cubic Chunks support in MCEdit the more he will know people want it and the more priority he will give it.
Regarding Optifine: It's my understanding that it is becoming Forge compatible, as such there is a chance it might be possible for Cubic Chunks to use it through that in some way?
Regarding HDTextures: It has been possible to use HDTextures with Cubic Chunks since the beginning. My install directions for Cubic in this threads OP explains how to get them to work. I haven't personally tried it with the newest 1.5.3 T5 version but let me know if it doesn't work for it. Actually, if the method in my tutorial doesn't work for this version then it's likely a bug with that test version and should be reported in Robinton's thread. I always read it so I'll see it there too. :wink.gif:

Yikes! I'm assuming you are talking about Cubic Chunks or is it one of the other mods? I've seen something like that on a computer with a built-in Intel graphics chip before and no proper Graphics card, though I don't know if that is the cause.
Please post this bug report in Robinton's thread if it is a Cubic Chunks issue. Thanks!
[EDIT]
Also; I have heard of a lot of people having this problem on Vanilla minecraft too. What they do to deal with it is change the view distance to a different distance for a moment then back to what they want it to be.
That clears the games buffers or something and returns to fps to normal again for a while. They used to be able to just press the [F] key to do this before notch removed that keyboard short-cut.
I hope that at least helps a little for now. :sad.gif:
And as per my original instructions I placed the HD Textures item last in the selections.
Picture of my MCPatcher window *:
* Your filenames will look a little different as I tend to rename my downloads a little. :wink.gif:
When adding the mods there were a couple of gotchas that might trip someone up:
Just click OK for the modloader & forge windows and don't change anything in them; however; Cubic Chunks as of 1.5.3 Test 5 is no longer directly inside of the .zip, it's in a sub-folder named "ToAddToMinecraft.jar". When the Cubic Chunks window opens, select that folder name then click OK.
The patching went fine, just click ok to all of the "conflicts" listed for these three mods as they are planned overwrites and not conflicts, so long as you add them in that order.
Here is my Texture Selector screen after selecting a 64x texture:
Here is an in-game screenshot with that texture active in a Cubic World:
Seed: mcp
Terrain: CC 1.5.3 Test 5 Default
Texture: 64x LB Photo Realism for MC b1.8.1
I will update my OP guide some with this info later. Technically my guide is still accurate and will work.
** MCPatcher currently automatically operates on the .minecraft folder that is in the default location, regardless of what folder you put MCPatcher into.
- This means that people, like me, who use multiple .minecraft folders in another location cannot directly use MCPatcher in alternate locations. I had to do my test in my default folder...
So, are there plans to bring this to Minecraft 1.0.0?
Yes, absolutely! Robinton downloaded MCP 5.0 as soon as it came out last night and will start looking at things in the morning. Still, there were a LOT of changes between b1.8.1 and 1.00 so no one can say how long it will take for him to convert it to 1.0.0. But he is on it. :wink.gif:
What about having a higher/deeper modded world without affecting the main world?
Do you mean having one world but applying certain mods only to certain height levels? Yes, mods can be made to do that, at least for some things such as new ores only spawning below y=0 and new mobs only spawning at certain levels (but can climb higher afterwards if the terrain allows it. :wink.gif:
Robinton has made an iCubePopulator class interface that makes it easier for people to make such mods, and he's willing to help out in other ways too if posssible when he has the time. :smile.gif:

Awesome, can't wait - after all, with the full release out, I don't have to worry about terrain generation changes that will majorly affect my world. I went and made a new one, and have been mapping out my continent ever since. It needs a stupidly huge Citadel somewhere near the center...
I've encountered a problem... as I'm going around this continent, it keeps getting bigger. It should have looped around earlier, but then branched off into a larger landmass, as if the days I spent circling one before were done circling a small peninsula.
