um I learned something from somewhere and isn't MAC like Linux? Posted Image If not then quick question:
Why no mac? I would at least think you would think about mac before linux because it is a lesser known system..
I guess mac has another con what the heck did mac do to so many people and companies!?  meh I hope you have future plans for it Posted Image.
When I ported ImageToMap  to different platforms I didn't take into consideration wich platforms had the most users or wich was most known. The only thing I took into considerations was if I used it or not. Two years ago I switched almost completely to linux and therefore I made a port to linux. If I had switched to Mac I would have made a port to Mac. But the reason I still haven't made a Mac port isn't because I hate Apple, Mac or Mac users but, as I've answered many times and in the title of the thread, because I haven't got a Mac. I (and WildN00b) have tried, multiple times, to port it via a virtual machine but it hasn't worked out. I still have hope to one day successfully make a Mac port, but it doesn't seem very likely

I'm not trying to force you into anything, just pointing out a possibility...have you tried making a small partition of one of your hard drives and actually physically installing one of the Mac OS onto it? It bypasses most of the issues that would result from a virtual machine...the only issue I could remember from the times I've done this would be drivers, but that should be simpler in this day and age.

On a different front, having a minor issue. I'm trying to use it to import an image but every single time, the server just goes 'NOPE' and forces it to use the original map. I'm running 1.6.4 and have the old colors option checked....honestly, there's NO documentation I can see so I'm just fiddling..it seems the files are right but then the server Vetos it and does what it wants.

Help?

Thank you for the great program. And please excuse my bad English.

Would it be possible to add or change the following things:

- It would be great if the program could remember the last opened folders (load and save).
- It would also be good if the program could keep the window sizes.

And the most important:
- It would be awesome if the program would automatically save all individual parts for split images. For large images, it is very
troublesome, individually select and save all the pieces.
Perfect it if you could specify the first card ID and then the program assigns the rest would be.

I do have considerable experience in C/C++/Obj-C programming, so if you want I could spend some time on this to make a mac-compatible version.

on the OP there is an Image to Map called 1.3.1... it supports the 1.7 map colors :)
EDIT:
also, its not a mod, it does not need to update every time there is a change to the game :)

Is there any way you could make some way to draw images specifically to put on maps? Like perhaps a second part of the program where it is like a really basic version of paint, where you can put in text, add in shapes/lines, and use all the colors of maps to make the picture. Plus being able to pick the coordinates it is based off would be nice, just in case we wanted to make an interesting background for our unexplored maps.

Why does this not support anything higher than 128x128 maps...

*sigh*

Because it was first written when maps weren't any larger than that.
"I dunno, ZK, that sounds pretty awesome..."
"Well then, let's get awesome!"

The larger maps may cover more world area, but that doesn't meen it has higher resolution than 128x128. When maps are larger every pixel just represents more blocks, they don't get smaller.

hi, great tool.

is there a possibility to get schematics or region data out of maps? so, if someone plays on a multiplayerserver,he would be able to create a picture and build it there

the "render world" function drives me insane, maybe its broken or i dont get it working.

1.7 changed how blocks are identified, so old mapping tools don't work any more because they rely on block ID numbers, not names. But as for schematics or region data, all you get is what's in the map file if you read it, including location and zoom level. No block schematics unless you want to build them pixel by pixel -- there's no tool I know of to do that, and you'll never get 3D data out of a 2D map.

Window, Linux, but no Mac? Why not?
