I have been working for quite some time on an impressive project for MassiveCraft.com
MassiveCraft is a Midieval fantasy roleplaying server, birthplace of several Bukkit plugins, including Factions and Vampires.
It is public with 200 player limit, Multiverse, MCMMO, and many other plugins.
I have been enjoying myself there as a moderator and lead map developer, and I hope you'll join us!
My newly released map project features several tropical biomes and over 220 unique Bo2 objects, created by the moderator team, and we will be presenting this bo2 package on my page at MassiveCraft.com. I do not intend to release the configuration settings immediately, I prefer you come join us on the server and see the final product along with everything else we offer!

Thanks to the graces of PhoenixTerrainMod (Formerly Bucyruss, then R-T-B ) now converted to TerrainControl by Khoorn, I can make very large maps with customized distribution of ores, trees, custom BBoB objects, and terrain variables.
For those that do not understand Minecraft's map generation, know that when you reach the boundary of any pre-generated map, any new chunks generated will be like that of normal minecraft worlds, usually creating a harsh boundary.
I generate out to 2k or 3k blocks, as many players don't go that far from home, especially when the landscape is nice.
Pre-generating maps also elminates the lag caused by generating chunks during play.
All my maps are free for private/public server, personal use, or for your own adventure map projects, under the condition that you promise to show me your creations! ( Although no one ever has... )
All my maps will include a large resolution map inside the zip's root

Looks very nice, Downloaded the amazon one. Ive been looking for map that has a massive island in the middle and ocean all around it with a couple islands here and there. I been needing this for a new RPG server im doing. Its a fairly big server so the main island would have to be Massive, Ha if there's anyway in doing this, Credit would be given to you. And it would help me out a TON, since i can't get the terrain Mod to work on 1.5

Heres a little more detail If your interested.
-Massive Island in the middle
-Nothing but ocean around it
-Resources should be a little more populated since its a server.
-No more than 3 Smaller islands around the Main.
-The main island, Should have Tons of trees, Maybe a lake?, Small desert, and snowy area (If you could).

Question, the Amazon map is 2000 chunks, what does that translate to in terms of x by y distances
I do have a request...a deep water, and I mean deep water world with islands...not too dense, but not too sparse on the islands. can be small, but big enough for survival with a size of say 5500 x 5500 or whatever comes close to that?

With my method of map generation, I'm not able to place a desert or a winter biome in exact places, I'm at the mercy of the randomized engine. I CAN make it lean in directions and keep generating new maps over and over until I get close, though.

MLG generates 300 block square areas and moves the spawn point around a bit to keep generating more area around the edges. I tell it to generate out to 2k or 3k blocks and I think it gets close, but not exact, maybe even over.

Also, have you set this up so that if for some reason I do get to the edge of the map it keeps generating in a manner consistent with the original pre-genned map?
I want to generate a big map (6000x3000) based on a heightmap and I also have a plan for where I want the different biomes to go. I want it to be a complete world for a new server that is being set up. Would you take it on? I am not sure where to start with this.
Amazing thread! I've been using PhoenixTerrainMod, and found that it creates 60% of what I'm after. I'm almost tempted to just live with what it provides and use MCedit to edit the rest.
But basically I'm after a large map 1k-2k in size that is all water. I wanted the water level to 70 height, and the nearest submarine land only reaching 40 height. From bedrock to the 40 height land, the usual caves, ores and lava to occur.
Lastly I would like no land above the water level, and preferably not exceeding 40 height. Obviously I'll need land at the spawn (0,0) for spawning but that can be created later with MCEdit.
Optional: if i could get PhoenixTerrainMod to have 1x1 blocks of dirt, wood, stone, coal dotted around the map at level 70 so people can build above water, would be epic, otherwise I can manually edit this in.
If you can do this, I'll super appreciate it, and even donate to the cause!
Not worried about borders as I'll prob limit borders with a border mod.
Unless someone has the same world generation programs, installed and running with the same settings, any new chunks generated in these worlds will be using the vanilla minecraft. If you'd like a map make sure to ask for one large enough for your needs. Otherwise you will end up with sharp demarcations between old and new generated chunks.

As it turns out, using a random generator to get a set number of close landforms alone in the ocean is a MONUMENTAL task.
As such, I'm going to push out some original creations of my own before I bury myself in requests!
I hope that doesn't offend anyone too bad, but I'm going to take everyone's requests into consideration during my process anyhow.

I've been using the mod since Bucyruss created BTM and in between updates always sucks. Not to mention you've managed to generate some very nice looking maps. I hope you plan on posting some of your settings in the PTM Settings thread :3
