It looks like we're finally going to have a use for slime balls. Jens has tweeted that we'll be able to use slime balls to make the new Pistons in 1.7 into Sticky Pistons, what that means exactly, we haven't figured out yet.

I hope there will be more uses. This one seems a bit limited...

usually it means<br />When E.G. a Sheep is besides the piston and the sticky piston will be activated the sheep will sticked on the piston and can´t move

Well, pistons themselves could be used as a flood gate so I think using the sticky pistons to move a block to act as the flood gate seems a bit like double-handling.

I'm just looking forward to making secret doors using bookshelves (as if that wouldn't be awesome! XD)

Well, actually, there are sticky pistons in the piston mod (I haven't used the mod, but have seen them in several youtube videos). Normal pistons simply shift a block so that when the piston retracts the block doesn't return to its initial location. Sticky pistons, however, "pull" the block back to its initial location when they retract. I'm assuming (and I think it's a pretty safe assumption) that this is what is meant by "sticky pistons".

So, if I'm right, these Sticky Pistons can be used to lift an item but it'll not fly as it's stuck to the Piston, right?

Actually Jeb just got rid of the flying made by pistons because he thinks it's silly.

...you've touched a slimeball have you? Just because slimes jump (or seem to bounce) doesn't mean that they are bouncy.

maby with the sticky ones if it hits a floating item(a droped tool or something) or sand/gravel it pulls it towards the piston. thai would be good on custom escape maps as you could have to do something to send poower through redstone and activate the sticky piston that pulls a bit of sand onto a presure plate that opens the door.
