Description:
This map is one of the few grand adventure/puzzle type maps available now. You can download it and try to solve all puzzles and clear all challenges!
My main fucus while working on this new map was to add many puzzles accessible to everyone, there won't be crazy and unsolvable puzzles, but many fun and unexpected ones, including a lot of hidden areas and things to do too. This map has all the good stuff from my previous work but made even better!
So far it has about 25 min of gameplay and includes a lot of stuff (+things that were added in latest updates). This map is finished but remember that it is still in development, I will continue adding new stuff every version so check back later :happy.gif:
This map Includes following:
- Puzzles (whole lot of different ones)
- Hidden stuff and passages
- Use of pistons :wink.gif:
- Locked Doors (a lot :tongue.gif:)
- Switches and Buttons (naturally)
- High score counting system (like in The Forgotten Temple)
- Puzzles with minecarts (including booster track pieces, etc.)
- Lava :smile.gif:
- Jumping paths (well, if you don't feel like it you don't have to do it)
- Dispensers (and fire arrows :smile.gif:)
- Two worlds.
- etc.
How to install:
Just extract the archive into your minecraft save directory and then play like any normal world. Please follow the rules posted in starting room.
Screenshots:
*please post some screenshots of new version of the map, I'll add them here*
I played it one time now, and I got 51 gold.
And I must say (and I'm glad to say, too) that its one of the best adventure maps I've ever seen and played!
Probably the best! Both of my thumbs up for you :wink.gif:
This map was AWESOME!!!! Really enjoyed the way you used the pistons great job C(^.^C)
Also:
- Post your higscores after you finish playing! There's a lot of secrets :smile.gif: Can you find all of them?
- Don't forget to save a link to this thread, so you can find it later.
- Please don't spoil puzzles, let people figure it out for themselves.
- English is not my native lang, so if you can point out any mistakes in game texts please do so :smile.gif:
- Please post some screenshots, I'll place them in this post.
- If you have youtube channel you might consider making "lets play" video of your first try. If I watch it it will greatly help me understand how to make this map better.
- If something doesn't work for you - you probably playing with mods (disable them!).
Walktrough: Warning! Don't watch this video before you play this map yourself! You will spoil every single puzzle if you watch it now. Go play it first :smile.gif: This video was made by one of the players with very old version (v0.5) of the map.
*please post your let's play video of newest version, I'll add it here*
Updates:
v1.0 - A LOT of new puzzles including ones with pistons.
v0.8 - purely bugfix.
v0.7 - added few new puzzles and fixed some things.
v0.5 - initial release.
Well, you can look at my previous project then.
* A lot of pics :smile.gif: (sarcasm)
* 67 pages of discussion on this forum alone (so far).
* About two hundreds lets play videos in different languages.

etc.
Planning on doing a Let's Play of this :smile.gif:.
Thank you :smile.gif:
My first map was only good because people helped me! If not for them I wouldn't be able to make it that the way it is now.
I hope it will be the same with this map too. As after I watch each of letsplay I understand more and more what need to be changed in order to make the map more interesting.
For example if puzzle is too difficult for most people I will make it easier in next version, or if it's too easy I'll change it so it will be more challenging. Also depending on how people go though the map I add some secrests in places no one looks in :wink.gif: But that's not all, people also helped me come up with the ideas for new puzzles and elements for the map. If you have any ideas please send them to me and I will try to implement it in next version.
Rendering and uploading the first part now. 15 mins in and I'm not sure how far I've come but it's been fun :biggrin.gif:. Only one thing, on the first puzzle its possible to pull the levers from the ground :S.
Nice :smile.gif:
"on the first puzzle its possible to pull the levers from the ground :S" - that's what lets play for :smile.gif: I will fix it in the next version, thank you.
I have a few pictures that I took also I guess I am a clever guy to get the one puzzle sorry they are big msg me if you need them resized of need the file
Even though it isn't finished it was very enjoyable and I look forward to playing it later. I found 21 gold (a few not legit), the diamond armor set, and the diamond ore (legit). :smile.gif:
Some suggestions...
I had a ghast problem in a couple rooms so you might want to consider adding blocks to prevent them from spawning. Also I somehow got the idea that you were supposed to burn the wool in the ceiling of the fountain room and was a bit surprised to come out in the Nether with a ghast in my face, so you might want to change that (unless that is intentional?).

In what room ghasts spawned? I will fix it.
And as for the wool, I fixed it. It will be in the next version.
The only room a ghast spawned for me was the first puzzle room with the hatches. Only the lower half of it fit though so I'm not sure how it spawned.
The room with the double steel doors, rug, and two paintings might be large enough also but a single block in the ceiling should fix it, or you could just lower the entire thing 1 block.
Oh and off topic but... how do you quote on these forums? :tongue.gif:
Just one problem with a ghast - during the puzzle with the lava walls a ghast shot at me which made the puzzle impossible. I then broke the chest to get past because I couldn't complete the puzzle and... well :tongue.gif:.
Yes, it will be fixed in next version :smile.gif:
As for a chest, well, it was said that you can't break anything :laugh.gif:
Thanks! When do you think the next version will be out?
Just released it :smile.gif:
Though, it mostly bug fix update, there's only about 3-4 new puzzles added in this version.
I'm wating for mojang to implement pistons. This map initially was intendet to be mainly based on pistons, so I can't really progress without them added.
Somehow, I missed reading the part in your main post where you say it was unfinished. I think the rating will go up once you publish the full map.
This was played by an 8 year old and a 7 year old with me watching. For the most part, they had fun. They got stuck in the dirt cave the longest. Some of the lever puzzles, they didn't "figure out" but just randomly hit switches until they were solved. But they didn't seem to mind. They were not happy with the lava maze :wink.gif:

What is the point of going through the portal and being inside of an enclosed building? Will there a payoff at some point?
Will you add a storyline later?
Moving trapdoor puzzle was really cool... but you can stand on the ground and jump to reach the levers. You may want to raise the levers higher.
Ladder puzzle - meh
The next puzzle
- you can avoid the puzzle and just jump up to hit the lever
- they dropped glowstone powder into the water but it must have gotten stuck somewhere and didn't do anything. They had to manually break down the steel door
Door puzzle - meh
Coal car puzzle... they put the coal in and it went the wrong way, right into the block. I let them break the glass in order to manually set off the wooden pressure plate and open the door.
Dirt cave... they got lost for almost 10 minutes until I had to get them out.
There were squids in the frozen ice. Was a cool puzzle.
Minor Spelling error, "Chamber or GREED" should say "Chamber of GREED".
