server.properties

Can someone list and explain all the commands that can be put into this file? (I'm not using and mods)
Please don't just tell me the default ones that are in there because I've seen others listed without explanations in other threads.

On a side note, I'm getting an error about msvcp100.dll when I run cartograph mod to see my map. What do I need to do to fix this? It looks like a vc++ runtime library or something. I don't remember how to get that from MS.

Register or log in to remove.

this is the official MS link for that: http://www.microsoft... ... bf0912db84

for future reference, the google search term I used was "MS visual c++ runtime 2010"

no idea about extra server properties though; I'd like to know this myself :stone:

Thanks fry, this was what I needed. The link above this tells a bunch of server.prop entries. More than I knew before so thanks for that too.

http://www.fix-all-d...m/msvcp100.dll/

Here you can find the solution...you just have to click the "Fix dll errors now" button and then download the given program...your problem will be fixed.
There is no need to run the scan...

The ServerName property of the SERVERPROPERTY function and @@SERVERNAME return similar information. The ServerName property provides the Windows NT server and instance name that together make up the unique server instance. @@SERVERNAME provides the currently configured local server name.ServerName property and @@SERVERNAME return the same information if the default server name at the time of installation has not been changed.

The link to the Wiki for server properties is great. I already found that and it does not explain all of the properties that are in my server.properties file.

The main thing I am trying to figure out at this point that is the most important is how to stop mobs from spawning randomly during the day when I am set to peaceful mode and trying to build stuff.

I just started playing on my private server and thougth peacefull mode worked the same way it does in single player mode. WRONG! Luckily I had a backup copy of my world. A mob popped up and in like about 1 second blew apart part of 3 floors of my building and this is during the day and the building has glass walls and torches.

This never happened in single player mode set at peacefull.

If anyone has any ideas, let me know.

FYI. This is what is in my current server.properties file.

Thanks for any help.

part of the issue is you're running server mods; half of those options don't appear in the vanilla server.

In any case, to turn off enemy mobs, you want spawn-monsters=false.  on the vanilla server, this also activates peaceful mode (you take less damage, and regen health).  With mods, go look up the mod documentation - all bets are off :Furnace:

Darius,
change spawn-monsters to false.  the serverip can stay blank.  "server" is not a normal command.  server-name is and you can add any string after server-name to label your server.

badzilla,
you are using a custom server and not the default minecraft server.  you have more properties than the default minecraft server supports.  but make sure that spawn-monsters=false and no more baddies.
