OK we all know that 3D glasses at some point make us have headaches, also the red and blue is completely outdated(sort of). Well, what about the 3D they have at the movies? Way less headaches, still effective... I think Minecraft should adopt this kind of 3D so as to make the 3D part of Minecraft MORE enjoyable. Additionally, red and blue glasses are harder to find now then the up-to-date 3D glasses at the movies. I think this should be taken to notice for future updates to Minecraft. THX   :iapprove:

The 3D technology used in movie theaters these days projects two different images using two different polarizations of light. Unless you have a very specialized monitor that I'm not even certain exists, this is impossible. As much as I would love it, it's completely impractical, and red/blue or other colored glasses remain the only way for everyone to have access to the 3D feature.

What's the point? Only a very, very minor percentage of the people who play would use it.  Just wouldn't be worth the effort of coding it.
Warning: It is always a possibility this user is talking out of his ass.

Would you rather...

1. Spend $500 on a 3D moditer, and get notch to update
2. Buy some red n' blue 3D glasses for $3.50

you decide...

I agree, unless you get deathly head aches, then just don't play with it unless you wont to spend the money and code it yourself.

I think what XDrakkir is trying to say is that he either wants to buy everyone the necessary hardware to play in the new version of 3D or just play in 2D like everyone else does.

I wrote a mod just for this; http://www.minecraft...olsnv-3d-vsnfs/ It supports customisable anaglyph and nVidia 3D Vision.

The best way to get full colour stereoscopic 3d at home is to purchase the nVidia 3D Vision kit. The nVidia 3D Vision Kit is a pair of wireless electronic glasses that blocks out an eye (the lens tint black) while your monitor displays the frame for the other eye. In order for this to be fluent you need a monitor capable of refreshing at 100Hz or more (so 50Hz for each eye).

All you need is an nVidia graphics card from the last 3 years, a 120Hz LCD/100Hz CRT, and the nVidia 3D Vision Kit.

From scratch the most it'll cost you to set this up is; the graphics card: $100, nVidia 32 Vision Kit: $150, and a 3D Monitor: $300. I still have a high-end CRT from 2003 that is more than capable of 100Hz, so if you have a modern computer, saved your old CRT, then it's likely all you only need to purchase is the 3D Vision Kit. I've occasionally seen the 3D Vision Kit sell on eBay for less. e.g.

Those glasses you get from the cinema (under a brand name like RealD) won't work with your monitor so you can't ask Notch to support them in the game. These glasses rely on a display that shows the image for each eye at a different polarity and filters out the image not intended for that eye.

Actually, with LG's D2342P-PN 23-Inch Widescreen Passive 3D LED LCD Monitor you don't need the nVidia card they use Tridef 3d software that works with most pcs because it just intercepts the DirectX and it works great!

Here is a video if you are interested.

I use the regular Real 3d glasses from the movies on all my 3d games using this monitor. Best of all, PS3 and Xbox360 games that are in Stereoscopic 3d work also. (Including 3d blueray on PS3.)

The monitor was < $300 and again... it works great. (I just need you to update your Mod so it will work with the current version of Minecraft. lol

I've never heard of Green/Magenta 3D before. That certainly sounds like a lot less horrible color combination than Red/Blue (the most uncomfortable color combination on the eyes, ever.)
Spoiler:
I lurk sometimes. I don't post anymore.

As of my understanding, TriDef won´t work with Minecraft, as MC doesn´t use DirectX, right? Do you have a workaround of some sorts?
(I would love to see Minecraft working with Tridef, because in Red/Cyan colours are messed up.)

Do you know what kind of glasses you need for TriDef btw?

Why.... WHY. WHY!?! Can't you look at the date for once?
To all of you people who think Notch is still working on the game, he stopped working on Minecraft in late 2011. Get your facts straight and stop spamming his twitter about Minecraft updates.
