Just a little fix I put together to make 1.6.6 a LITTLE more playable.

Only work on 1.6.6 SSP. I am not sure what will happen if you connect to a server with the mod. (Surely a nice crash)  :D

Link: Download

Note; The game will surely still lag, but not as much as it did.  ;)

Note 2; DON'T use this if you can run Minecraft 1.6.6 fine.

Seed temp-fix; Download

Picture; Link

For modloader; Download Install modloader and this mod then put this file ontop of it

So this prevents tall grass from being created on newly generated chunks?

Yep. Tall grass seem to be a part of the lag problem.

With all the game slowing mods I use, every little bit helps.  ;)  Plus I think the new grass looks like shit.   :Diamond: for you, thanks for the mod.

Tall grass is a  problem, alright... Quarries (Buildcraft) currently crash when drilling into it. I agree that the grass looks like shit! If it was generated more like flowers and other plants, (less common) it might be ok, but there is WAY too much of it. Pain in the ass.

Thanks for solving this issue! :D

Thank you very much for this. I'm not a fan of the new grass at all and it does seem to be causing huge lag spikes for me. I'm going to wait until I'm ready to create a new world before I install it, though. Just in case :3

I'm just sad that it only works for new worlds. :(

I just started my second world ever, and I'm already several hours in.

Instead of bashing him on something that DOESN'T WORK anymore. Make sure you know what your talking about. In 1.6 Notch made it so that you have to break tall grass to get seeds. I don't know if this mod makes it so that you can get seeds from the grass blocks by tilling it again or not.
A signature was supposed to be here but your computer decided not to show it.

How rude, even more rude because you are wrong.

Seeds can only be retrieved from wild grass, or wheat. Don't believe me? Doesn't matter

Curses  :SSSS:

My apologies. Had no idea it doesn't drop from grass anymore. I also wasn't aware I was actually being rude. If you are angry with me, please send me lots of hateful PM's. Preferably.. of the dirty variety.

OT! I just made a new world to test this on. Performance actually seems a lot better. Thank you again, OP.

To the seed problem. Yaaah. I noticed that and when I break tall grass, I don't get seeds anyway.

None, zero.
