Jan0499, you probably put in the wrong amount for RAM - you need to specify it in MB not GB.

I put 2000 MB

When I checked about 2 months ago, it told me I could host a safe 17.

Now when I go to it it only says 9. Was something changed with the site?

Nope, are you sure you put the same numbers in?

I am sure of it, nothing has changed with my computer nor my internet connection.

Hrm.. Went to check just in case in the middle of typing this. It went back up to 17 players. Very odd. I probably just typed my RAM wrong when I checked last time.

Guys this works, go to speedtest.net and get your download/upload speed, type that in the blanks. right click "My Computer" go to properties and it should show how much RAM you have in GB or MB 1024MB = 1GB

lolled,

upload speed 0.78 ms
download speed 12.90 ms
RAM 6000 mb

Lolled, I can only have 2 players (excluding myself) on my server, wtf low upload speed...

Well, in august I get another provider, hope its better then :P

But I've got no lag when I play with 1 person and myself, but don't I need to have one if the max I can host is 2 people?... wierd :P

Nice :D but ...its telling me that i could host a 15 person minecraft server with my laptop.......can you possibly put in how laggy it will be at that capacity or is it assumed that it will be very laggy with that many people also is there a way to evaluate it with maximum CPU included as i know my CPU would probably disqualify a lot of machines including mine :P
Without minecraft id have to go outside....its bright out there...does anyone have the dimmer switch for the sun?

Got a six, funny because I've tried with 1 person and they have had bad lag, could be their connection though :/

Result: Yes, a million times!

You can host a maximum of:

303027
Players at the same time, plus yourself

You've got a fast enough internet connection and enough RAM to cope with a decent number of players.

Looks like you're all set up to play. E

what did i do wrong????

This tool isn't accurate, says I can host 3 when I can host 9 with no lag, and that's with 10+ Bukkit plugins running. I've even had 11 with no lag but 9 gives me a comfy window. Whatever the equation is, you might want to add *3 to the end.
