Important notice for using this texture pack!
In order to fix the Water, Fire, Lava, Bricks, Gold Blocks, Portals and Pumpkins with an HD texture pack, you should use the program located here. This program should also be used if you want the custom Water, Lava and Fire. Patch your minecraft.jar with all options on -- "Better Grass" mod is optional.

This is a texture pack to make the Minecraft world look simpler and possibly a bit more cartoon-y. This texture pack includes everything except paintings and is constantly updated. I'll just let the screenshots and terrain.png speak for themselves. These are outdated screenshots of the SD version.

There's a HD version and there's different option for thinner leaves or clearer water.

Spoiler:
A few notes on the texture pack:
- I haven't edited the sponge block, since it's not used. I will edit it in the future, though
- I still need to edit art
- The pig zombie mob is not edited, since I thought Notch would change it soon -- I'll edit the pig zombie soon
- I've made this texture pack colorblind-friendly. You can recognize blocks and items by their pattern
- Diamond tools/armor have a different shape, due to the similar colors to Iron
- Diamond armor, when worn, doesn't have a different shape yet.
- [HD] I have yet to upscale the mobs, player, gui and items.

If you have any suggestions or questions, do not hesitate to tell me!

Nice jorb, I like the look of this pack. Only suggestion would be to make the tree leaf pattern more random, similar to the grass pattern.

outline the mobs. They look too plain (somehow!) in comparison to the ground and other tiles!

I see. It kind of does, doesn't it?

Yeah, I agree. I tried an outline for the mobs, but somehow, that made them even weirder.
Actually, I think the sheep look fine this way (feel free to disagree, though). Most friendly mobs look fine. The spider isn't bad either, due to its spots. The zombie and skeleton aren't that bad either, but the biggest offender is the creeper. Perhaps I should add spots to him too. After all, in the original texture, the creeper had a hint of gray in it.

I dont see what all the hype is with all of these simplistic Texture packs. Sure some of them are all right (yours is best ive seen), but it just gets old after a while
Other than that its quite nice.

I see what you mean, and I agree with you to some extent. I saw this simple texture pack that I liked, but since it was HD it brought some problems with it. I did some searching for an SD simple texture pack, and I couldn't find anything that suited my tastes. That's why I created one of my own.
I wanted to make a texture pack that where I can easily recognize the different kinds of blocks, since I am colorblind. I also wanted something easy on the eyes, without too many frills. And that's how this came to be.
My original intent wasn't to make a texture pack for the public. This was a texture pack for me, but I then noticed that people really liked the texture pack I made and that's what convinced me to make it public.

The reason why I think there's a hype for simple texture packs is actually for the reasons I mentioned above. They wanted a sleek texture pack, without many frills. But since this is such a personal taste, quite some people want to create their own. That's why there are so many simple texture packs out there.

And hey, this is nothing compared to the Doku's RPG hype. :Spider:

well, im starting to like these plain and simple skins to it, it just gets old and simple is just easier on the eyes and fits minecraft more -_-
i will use this but i dont like like the glass too much ( i love the mixcraft glass with simple stuff)  and the flakcraft cobble is WAAY better (no offense)

Hm, could you maybe give me some examples of this cobblestone and glass? I'll see if I like theirs better and if so, I will improve my texture pack.*

*Don't think I will simply rip and steal their designs. No, I will just look at it and give my own twist to it.

The reason for the crops is because it's for the colorblind. I am hardly able to see the difference between a grown crop and a finished crop using the normal textures. I understand from others that there is a huge difference (the finished crop is more orange-brown), but I can't see that. Colorblind people can recognize immediately when crops are finished with my texture pack, because they'll see a dark tip.

On the subject of the other blocks. The cobblestone (and the mossy) perhaps don't have enough of a straight pattern in them. They seem really out of place with the rest of the texture pack.
As far as I can see, the glass only has a dark edge instead of a light edge. In my opinion, glass should be a very light (in color) material. I haven't seen much glass with a dark outline.
The cactus, though, I like. I will see how I can make my own cactus look better. Though, the top of the cactus looks a bit too much like those square patterns you see in Flakcraft, I might not change my own cactus-top too much.

Thanks for all the comments and help! =D

Okay. A big update this time! I actually added a HD texture pack now, since I saw that there is a fix for them finally. I haven't yet upscaled the player and mob models and the gui and items are also still a lower resolution. Are these even possible to upscale?

v1.1.2_01b released!

Changelog:
- Changed the name of the pack
- [HD] Added the HD texture pack!
- [SD] Fixed a mis-colored pixel on the side Log block
- [SD] Fixed a mis-colored pixel on the 3rd-stage Wheat block
- [SD] Fixed multiple mis-colored pixels on the top Cactus block
- [SD] Fixed the issue of all Metal blocks being positioned incorrectly
- [SD] Changed the color of the Iron Door
- [SD] Changed a few colors on the Furnace (unnoticeable)
- [SD] Changed the design of the 6th-stage Wheat block a little
- [SD] Added the correct Dirt pattern to Dirt-Snow blocks

HD:

So yeah. Does anyone know if it's possible to upscale the gui, items and player/mob models? Or would that be wasted effort?

Yes. It should work. Do you want to use the HD texture pack or the SD texture pack?
Also, I'm afraid I can't help much, since I know next to nothing about macs. You can follow this guide here for installing the texture pack on the mac: viewtopic.php?f=25&t=40207
If you want to use the HD pack, you should use this on top of that: viewtopic.php?f=25&t=46173

not a fan of the hd, it just looks more grainy and less polished, and the lava is meh but the water is terrible (im sorry if i sound rude) but it looks so murky and looks super "fake". i still use your pack when im not using painterly (i like a break from all the "noise") and i dont like your items and stuff. i just like the default better but still really nice pack. and i added the reeds from the zelda pack, those are very nice reeds and fit very well with ur pack.

Yeah, I am using the standard texture pack myself too. But I made the HD pack for the people interested in it.
The water and lava, though, are just the default water (using the HD fix patch).
What do you mean with murky, though?
