Origins/About Me
However, recently, I ventured to Spain (I say recently, I mean in 2010, I think) and despite that being good fun, I'm sure there are some of you that know what a typical Spanish holiday may include...Now, after coming back home, it felt like my brain had been churned up like butter. And no, this isn't an ad for some new Margarine...So, I've barely done any art since that time, and am currently waiting for the 'Motivational-Mobile' to hit me as I cross the road one day.
However, I figure I have to do something too - I've only recently started playing Minecraft but heard about it since the beginning, saw a couple of images that were made using the game and thought nothing of it. I've now had the game for roughly 2/3 months, and it's excellent, I love the look and feel of the game and all that there is to do in it. Shortly after I started, I began to look for texture packs, and there are many interesting ones out there, but I've always wanted to develop and create my own...
Which is where this...Or more so, where I come in, again. It seems simple enough, and being big on art, pixel art, computers and all things digital I wanted to give it a go, and currently am! Just started today on: "Captain's Log: Stardate; 1st of June, 2011."
This should be fun...
The Texture Pack and Sich'
I have many ideas in my head, some for other texture packs that I wish to make (Which really isn't helping right now!) and others for this one. I could use as much advice as possible, and criticism would be greatly appreciated.
Anyway, Good Night, Sleep Tight - Young Lovers...
Not for me though because I stay up until daybreak.
I'll try and be as active on here as possible, though I can't promise anything, although, I do love being badgered! So, if I am inactive, keep pestering me as I need motivation from others' as well as myself ~ Thanks and God Bless, unless you're atheist, in which case, Cosmos Bless!

Current Version: 2.7
From now on, each new submission of content/edit will be +.1 to the version. I will try and make the new additions worthy of adding 1/10th to my version scale, of course.
From now on, in days that I'm editing, I will keep a log as I edit, as you see here. I've been tracking all the changes that I've made progressively.
Easier to see what's new & less time searching!
Not everything in this update meets my standards, but, as these are new blocks, I think it is a good idea that I've uploaded the texture pack update to see the patterns before I edit them further.
Content Textured:
- Redwood Log,
- Birchwood Log,
- Stone Brick
- Mossy Stone Brick,
- Cracked Stone Brick,
Initially, it had been a high-contrast/low brightness variant of the regular wood log, however, I've now retextured it. The bark may be a more horizontal angle than most types of redwood bark, however, I think it looks quite appealing. I will most likely add more changes to it, but, it's certainly better than the initial texture I made.
Birchwood Log:
Moderately improved the original Birch texture. I hadn't yet textured it, and figured it needed done. I've tried to make it look smoother/more appealing/less-noticeable. To do so, I've lightened a lot of the original black parts in the log, while also adding my own completely new texture.
Stone Brick:
Newly textured, was the default, is now a 3-layer granite-based brick formation. If that's a bit too much of a mouthful for you, just think of the original stone bricks, but with a third section. The current formation is:
Layer 1: Smallest, x3 height.
Layer 2: Largest, x6 height.
Layer 3: Medium(est?), x4 height.
I've stayed trew to guid aeld Sco'ish granite! Aye min'!
I've also completely changed the mossy brick & cracked brick to match this new texture, of course!
Cracked Brick:
Now looks a lot more like 'grubby' brick. But that's not necessarily a bad thing. We'll just see how this texture does for a little while. I might just change it soon, though.
Fixes/Edits made:
Cobblestone/Mossy Cobble:
Changed Cobblestone, each individual brick is now smoother, with a little bit of noise. Tried to make them look more sleek instead of a somewhat noticeable cobble-brick. Also changed the mossy cobblestone to match this. Saved the originals, so if they aren't too favourable, it can easily be switched back.
Mossy cobblestone now also has a different hue in terms of the moss. I've made it look similar to the new texture of the Mossy Stone Brick.
Clay Brickblock:
Tried to make it look a little more...'homemade', by this I mean not so symmetrical or industrial looking. I want things to look and feel rustic. To do so, I've basically shifted the bricks around, making them blend in with one another and such.
Stone Brick:
Added some deformalities in the brick sections.
Stone Slabs:
The top pattern is less contrasting, seeming smoother than it was before. This is due to the fact that I thought it originally looked too dark/light in places.
Stone Double Slabs:
Made the lower corner shadows brighter, so that they're smoother.
That's all for now, folks. Like I say, I'm annoyed I can't work on this longer. But, I like putting out updates before work, to give things a chance to settle in. It also means I can provide a download for a few hours without me interfering every waking minute. xD

Well hi there, if you've selected this option, it means that you're perhaps not too sure on how to install a texture pack? No bother! Due to how easy-to-use Minecraft is, installing a texture pack is as easy as tying your shoe-laces, but, like all things, we all need help from time to time.
I'll do this guide in two ways, one for a slow-paced walkthrough, that may have a little more reading, and another in the form of a step-by-step list. Furthermore, this section also contains a guide for patching Minecraft, due to the fact that this texture pack has alternative biome colours (and soon custom running/still lava & water), it is required for maximum viewing pleasure.
Very basic, fully written guide:
So, first things first, you'll want to download the texture pack, choosing to save it somewhere easy to find (I personally recommend saving it to the desktop). Once the download is complete, open up Minecraft and select the 'Texture Packs' option on the main menu.
Next, there will be an option that should say: 'Open texture pack folder'. Once you've selected that it will open up a folder and all you need to do now is find where you saved the texture pack.
Once you've found the texture pack, simply copy/cut or drag it from it's location, into that texture packs folder, and, that's it! It's all done! You can exit all the folders and such, and, select your new texture pack to use forever!
Step-by-step, reduced guide:
1) Download the texture pack under the Download section of this page.
2) Open up Minecraft
3) Select Texture packs on the main menu.
4) Select Open texture pack folder.
5) Put the MSTPOW.zip in the texturepacks folder.
6) Exit all folders, and, select MSTPOW on the texture pack menu!
Fun Fact!: Your texture pack folder is located at: Start Menu > %appdata% > .minecraft > texturepacks!
Using the HD Patcher
Initial notes:
Using the patcher is quite simple but will be required under the circumstances of:
1) If I edit the biomes/water/lava/fire in any way.
2) If you remove/replace your minecraft.jar.
3) If I release a new version of my texture pack, and you have to replace the old one.
4) If you delete a version of MSTPOW and need to reinstall.
Installing and Using the patcher:
1) Open Minecraft and switch to the default textures.
2) Download and run the latest file for your OS in the link below.
3) If the file fields are not automatically filled in, hit the top browse button and find your minecraft.jar
4) Hit the browse button next to "Texture Pack" and find the .zip file for the texture pack you want to use.
5) Click patch.
6) When it's done, click Test Minecraft. If it doesn't work, contact me for further assistance or view here. If it does, you can once again launch minecraft.

Also, if you've patched the texture pack and minecraft closes, don't worry about it as it's meant to do this. I worried about that for the first few times, but, it's fine. I personally recommend to close minecraft after you've opened it and selected the default texture, that way, there should be no problems, and no interference.

Here you'll find screenshots and images of the texture pack content. Due to the fact that I've recently updated this thread, there aren't many shots around, however, should you have any desire to take some for me, and they're of good quality, I'll be happy to post them! Show me what you got!
Furthermore, if anyone wishes to do a (100% honest) video review of this texture pack, I will be glad to showcase it in another section of this thread.
Anyway, to the images now I think!
This first image was taken to show the foliage colours, as you can see, they're quite varied and almost autumnal. There's also just a slight clip of Sun, before it sets. I meant for this shot to be a little darker, however, when developing the shots for display, noticed that it wasn't as good as could be.
This image was taken in a very wonderful part of macropolis.fr, I tried to show the Sun as well as overhanging cliffs to display the texture of stone, as well as the smooth gradient of dirt. Nothing more to it really! It's just some pretty awesome geography!
Another geographical shot Don't mind the water, as that's merely temporary until I can figure out how to do the running water animation sheet, and still make it look good, if anyone has any tips or tricks for doing it, I'd greatly appreciate it!
I think we can guess what this is showcasing...The wonderfully vibrant colours of...COAL BLOCKS! Can you see them? Yup, boy the...Oh, no, didn't notice, it's actually the Gold Blocks we're showcasing here! This build was made by a user called 'Lalwende' on Macropolis.
Finally (for now), what would a small gallery of screenshots be without a split-comparison shot? I will have more of these, but, for now, let this whet your appetite! It's a tomb I built, again, on Macropolis, and am rather proud of my work! After looking at this shot, however, I am not too sure about the stone slabs. They seem awfully...Noticeable. But, as with everything in this pack, are susceptible to change!
Anyway, that's all for now!

This pack is done, honest to goodness, 100% by my own two hands. There has been no outside help, the only stuff that I've been going by is the minecraft defaults, and that's merely for dimensions and, at times, certain colours. I strive to be original, and I succeed with all that this texture pack is and contains.
I take pride in this being from scratch, as I know not every pack can claim such a thing. I don't have any fame to base this pack off of, nor do I have well-ground roots, but, all I can ask of you is to help me make this stand strong. And with your help, I know this can be a wonderful project.
Speaking of which, although this is 100% my own work, I always love to see motivation from you. And, you may very well get a mention, too. I believe that positivity is a big part to my work-load, and so is feedback, so, if you have but a minute, feel free to type up a quick response, or a lengthy one. Either way, I'll be sure to read it, and respond.
Anyway, sorry if any of what I've said sounds arrogant, I don't mean it to be. However, arrogance implies that there's only a small part of truth, and all that I've said here, there are no lies.
