I have been very busy and unable to update UraniumMod to 1.1 for now! I apologize, please try g3org1's UraniumMod version in the meantime, it's not very much like mine, but is loosely based off of it, and at least is compatible for 1.1. Otherwise, stay on the Minecraft 1.0.0 patch or don't use UraniumMod until I update it. You can see g3org1's thread here. Here are all the recipes:

It's finals week at my high school! I can't spend much time modding until winter break, which is only... less than 3 days away! At that time I can devote a lot of time to cramming in some new and exciting things in. I've got a whole list of ideas! Also, I am probably going to start working on other mods! As this mod was way more successful than I ever hoped, I'm excited to start to work on other mods! Oh, and if you have any ideas for UraniumMod, try to get them in to me by Saturday morning, so I can add them in UraniumMod 1.0.0d! Alright, goodnight! &--#60;3 12.11.2011
Thanks to the lovely administrator, Basic, I was able to get my display name changed to book! Thank you very much! So, fans and followers, it's still me! 12.11.2011
UraniumMod 1.0.0c is out now! Check out the changelog, definitely worth updating! It's 3 a.m. right now, so I'll update the rest of the thread information in the morning. Enjoy the update! 12.7.2011
The name UraniumMod is staying! Thanks for the feedback and poll. UraniumMod 1.0.0c is still in development and will not be a multiplayer release. Instead I am forking the single player and multiplayer versions of the game into two different development cycles. I will try and port the latest single player version to multiplayer as often as I can. Also, check out pinkemma's mods! I would love to do a collab with her. (Yes, "her," right? Correct me if I'm wrong.) 12.6.2011
UraniumMod 1.0.0c will most likely have multiplayer support! I have mostly finished it, I am just having a slight issue with the Reactor's GUI, if you could help please message me. I'm also planning to add an in-game way to check for updates, as well as creating an in-game accessible database of UraniumMod servers. Tell me what you think! Really, just reply to this comment. PS: Texturers, please PM me if you can help with your talent! 12.3.2011
UraniumMod 1.0.0b is out now! Read the changelog! Mutants! Check them out:

Artists, spriters, and texture-packers! I will now keep a list of textures that you can submit for use in UraniumMod, with full appropriate credit, of course! The work you submit must not be copyrighted or infringe on anyone else's work, of course! The textures currently needed are: Mutant (humanoid/zombie dimensions), Reactor (if you want to retexture it). 12.3.2011
You no longer "have to" donate to play UraniumMod. I realized that is a dumb way to financially support this mod, and I have switched to using the adf.ly service.
Also, UraniumMod is in need of your suggestions for 1.0.0b! Please reply to this topic with your ideas so development can continue! Much love, book. 11.30.2011
UraniumMod 1.0.0a is finally out! It is compatible with Minecraft 1.0.0 and only modifies one base class (which is even optional to use)! From now on releases numbers will have the same version numbers as Minecraft for their compatible releases, with a letter to indicate the version of UraniumMod that comes out for that version. UraniumMod 1.0.0a is the first in a possible series of releases compatible with Minecraft 1.0.0, for example.

Description
Greetings, miners!
UraniumMod adds a new ore to freshly generated chunks, Uranium Ore! Uranium Ore is a low-level radioactive ore that will damage you upon contanct, taking two hearts! When mined, Uranium Ore drops two to three Uranium Dust, which is a very valuable and useful item. You can craft a highly radioactive block, a Uranium Block, by crafting nine Uranium Dust! Uranium Blocks are highly dangerous, and glow very brightly. Upon contact, they take five hearts! It's a very useful tool for protecting your haven from mobs!
A Nuclear Reactor can be crafted by putting cobblestone in the formation of a regular furnace, and adding a Uranium Dust in the middle. It is powered by either Uranium Dust (one reaction) or Radioactive Coal (three reactions). A Nuclear Reactor can turn Diamonds into Uranium Gems, Coal into Radioactive Coal, and can also turn Cobblestone into Obsidian! Be careful though! Reactors sometimes give off Nuclear Waste, a toxic waste that can spread very quickly, and deal damage to you or other mobs who contact it! Always monitor your Reactors, or let the stuff grow for fun!
Uranium Gems can be used to craft a Uranium Pickaxe, Uranium Shovel, or Uranium Axe, the best tools in the game! Alternatively or additionally, they can be used to craft a Uranium Sword, which is also the best of its kind! If you combine the Pickaxe, Shovel and Axe, you can make a Paxel, a tool that does the job of all three! If you want a really long lasting hoe, make a Uranium Hoe! They can also be used to craft Nuclear Bombs, which are more powerful than TNT, or Uranium Grenades, which cause explosions upon impact! Watch out though, nuclear explosions may cause Mutants to cover your lands!
Mutants are a fast, glowing, powerful mob which will drop mutated flesh, the DNA within known as Mutigen. You can throw this Mutigen at certain mobs to mutate them into much scarier mobs. Good for mob drop farming! Mutigen can also be crafted.
So far, this is what constitutes UraniumMod, but I really, honestly, want your input on how I can improve this mod or add other uses for Uranium! I really do want your input! Video
Here is a video from Yogscast (BlueXephos) explaining the mod (for version Alpha 1.6, outdated; UraniumMod has since improved).
Uranium Ore: An ore found deep underground (below height 32) that glows subtly. Upon contact, it deals 2 hearts damage. Can destroy floating blocks and items around it, so mine and use carefully! Drops 2-3 Uranium Dust. Uranium Dust: The dust that comes from Uranium Ore. Can be used to craft Reactors, power Reactors for 1 reaction, place Nuclear Waste, and craft Uranium Blocks. Uranium Block: Very radioactive block! Glows vibrantly and deals 5 hearts damage upon contact! Great for mob traps, but it also destroys floating blocks and items, so use carefully! Can be crafted back into 9 Uranium Dust. You can turn these on and off via redstone, so they make effective redstone traps and also dynamic light sources! Reactor: Where stuff gets done! Acts sort of like a furnace, being powered by Uranium Dust or Radioactive Coal. Also be careful with this! Might randomly explode, dealing damage but not breaking blocks! Nuclear Waste "grows" around it and will spread! It is recommended to keep these in a vault underground surrounded by Obsidian. Reacts Coal to Radioactive Coal, Diamonds to Uranium Gems, and Cobblestone to Obsidian. Nuclear Bomb: Very powerful bomb! Be careful when dealing with it! Does not give you blocks from things it destroys. Nuclear Waste: Flat block that spreads very quickly, make sure you keep it controlled. Will deal 1 heart damage upon contact. Good for mob traps! Radioactive Coal: Used to power reactors for 3 reactions! Much more efficient than Uranium Dust. Uranium Gem: Used as the basic item for Uranium crafting recipes. Can make tools, bombs, and more! Uranium Tools: Lasts longer and is much more efficient than Diamond! Crafted normally, just with Uranium Ingots! Grenade: Explosive skulls packed with gunpowder and uranium! Use safely! Uranium Paxel: Combined Uranium Axe, Pickaxe, and Shovel. Can do all three jobs efficiently, and is packed into one tool! Mutant: Evil mob that comes from nuclear explosions! They glow in the dark and are very scary! Not affected by Uranium-related damage. Mutigen: Mutated flesh that drops Mutants! Can be crafted too. When you throw it a Pig, it will become a Zombie Pigman. If you throw it at a Zombie, it will became a Mutant. Gallery

Contribute
You can contribute to UraniumMod by submitting textures. If you feel an item, block, or mob needs to be re-textured, respond to this thread with the re-textured image and a brief explanation of why you think it is better suited. If you would like to contribute in a more materialistic way, please donate to keep me motivated with programming. Or, you can use the banners at the bottom of this post to spread the word of UraniumMod. Install
If you like the features of the latest UraniumMod, or would like to install it for the first time, you need to extract the .class and .png files from UraniumMod.zip. Then you need to use an archiver (WinRAR, 7zip, etc.) to open minecraft.jar (located in "/%AppData%/.minecraft/bin/" for Windows, "~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/bin/" for Mac, or your "~/.minecraft/bin/" for most Linux operating systems. Drag the .class files and uraniumTextures folder into the .jar. The .class files should be in directly, and the textures should stay in the folder in the .jar. You will also need to have ModLoader (by Risugami) installed through this method for the mod to work. For updating, the new .class and .png files will overwrite the old ones, so the update process is that simple! For more information on this, check the readme.txt! Banners
Enjoy the mod! Please, if you have feedback or need help, sound off below! If you like or want to support UraniumMod, please paste one of these banners in your signature:

since your takeing requests, how about adding more plants and such to farm and modern treets such as candys and sodas.
i could make some images for the items if needed.
What do you mean a tutorial? Like a review on YouTube or something? Sure, I'd be happy if you did! I might even add it to the OP!
This is a great mod!
I was wondering if maybe you could make the nuclear reactors combine to double production and is cobblestone the only material that can be processed in the reactor?
Lets hope these dont leak radioactive waste otherwise the cows and chickens arent gonna see another day xP
this looks useful and simple, im downloading! dont know if it does already or even if its possible but to have the uranium block pulsing light? think that would give a more radioactive feel to it
I think it would be amazing if you could combine an iron ingot with uranium dust to make a uranium bar and use that to craft tools. I also think it would be AMAZING if you combined sticks with the dust to make uranium torches that give off green light. I think you've got a fantastic mod here, can't wait to see what else you come up with!
Where I can find uranium ore in exists map? Im must rebuild map? :/
My sugestions:
- Add more radioactivity
- Reactor can produce a lot of energy for redstone (example: can power ~50 blocks of Redstone)
- Geiger counter for finding ore and hidden uranium (counter must be difficult to craft)
but can you make it so it damage you at a distance if there's no block in the way, and also can you make (lead, or something) armor that protects you from taking damage?
any more ideas needed? PM me, maby i can help you;)
Put TnT in the nuclear reactor with Uranium. Random idea
It would be cool if you could make uranium be used as a power source. Lets say you make Uranium torches and they have as much light as glowstone.{possible farther radius since its rare to fine). Then when they are powered through a uranium powered source they will work like the uranium block. If the light touches a mob or you it will start to cause damage. sword
The weapons could emit some light and also do little damage over time to a mob if hit with. pick axe
will let off some light like the sword. Will glow more if around more uranium.
Like the one above me how about the ability to make things like uranium trap blocks that when powered (by a reactor via redstone or maybe uranium wire) cause damage upon contact
I was actually thinking about making a mod like this but on a bigger scale. I was thinking about having a multi-block "Schematic" for reactors and then being able to use the reactor to power different things through uranium wire. I was also thinking about adding stuff like nukes and other special items that require nuclear power.
If you're interested I'd love to collaborate with you at some level, I'm not an amazing coder but I do know how to code. Otherwise feel free to implement any of my ideas if you like them.

Or you could go with the radiation suit.
something like this if it aint taken already go here
Also you should create a nuclear powered pickaxe or drill that has a pack which can be used as armor but placed on the back that takes uranium dust or even redstone dust for power and this can drill through obsidian in a matter of 3-5 seconds. Im not sure yet how it would look to make but to give the pack an ultimate look it should be incorporated with the radiation suit. Even made in major parts like the drill, the tubing and the pack made seperately.
Whoa! That's a lot of great feedback! Thanks everyone who downloaded and gave their ideas and input! Here is my person to person response (I may have edited your post to just include the information I am responding to):

Does the nuclear reactor smelt, if so how fast? (all i see is item repair).
why not Uranium Torches? the torches generating a 3x3 cube in which they damage stuff.
Yes, in a sense, the Nuclear Reactors "smelt" items. No, they don't smelt normal blocks like Sand into Glass or Cobble into Stone, but they have their own set of things they "smelt." But I'll just use the term "react" from now on.

Agreed, that would be amazing. I'll start working on it for the next update! Instead of Uranium Dust with sticks, though, why not "react" coal to make Radioactive Coal?

I've already tried to make Uranium Ore damage you at a distance, and found it very hard. It would lead me to edit way too many scripts and cause more conflicts with other mods, unfortunately! I will try the armor but no guarantees!

I like the nukes idea! I will work on it for next update! Again, no guarantees. Also, Uranium Torches will be implemented (if I can). Like someone above said, Iron should be "react-able" into Uranium Bars or Ingots. I'll try and add tools and weapons with this.

Sure! I'll try and make it so you need to power Uranium Blocks via Redstone to cause damage. Uranium Wire sounds like a lot of work though, so, for now, I'll stick with Redstone.

Uranium Ore is a little rare (around gold). It will generate 32 and below on the Y-Axis. Press F3 to see your coordinates.
