Flax
(Textures by Rhodox)



Simply put, this is a mod that adds a new plant to the game (That you can grow!), along with a few crafting recipes and 3 new items.

The Plant.

About the plant
The plant can be found growing wild in world, mostly in groups of 5 - 10 or around that.

(Disregard the small shadows on them, that was a debug.)

They have 3 levels of growth: Just planted, growing, and fully grown.
When a fully grown plant is destroyed it drops one seed and one Flax Fibre, all other growing stages drop nothing when broken)

Growing the plant.
Once you have obtained a seed you can then place the plant on any dirt, grass or tilled dirt block you can find. The surroundings currently do not matter, except for the light level when growing the plant or what the plant is placed on.

When you start growing the plant is gets placed as stage 1: Just Planted.


It will then grow to after a while to stage 2: Growing.

(Dammit, raining.)

After a bit for time it will grow to it's final stage, stage 3: Fully Grown.


When it hits stage 3 you can break it to get one seed and one flax fibre.
You can also use bonemeal on the plant to go straight to stage 3.

Other information

• Requires Modloader
  
• If used with Nandonalts beekeeping mod it will use the cloth from that mod, though will replace the texture.

It looks very nice, but... I don't know: it's making leather armor, or you should add cloth armor? Anyway, good mod

This would be great because i play on peacefull and it would know be possible to make fishing rods

Hey when your crafting cloth into wool your using 2 cloth to make just one wool but when your making wool into cloth you need 2 wool to only make 2 cloth, you should be getting 4 cloth from 2 wool. So can i request that you make it so ware you need to wool to make 4 cloth, and can you also make it ware you can use a single wool block to make 9 string? Just pointing out that flaw and hope you can get it fixed and updated because i think this can be a really good mod and might in the game one day!

I can't find any? i have walked around for seriously like 20 minutes and all ive found is reeds and tall grass

Seriously. I own the game, just that that popped up for no reason.

Oh and the sprites were made by Rhodox (The Painterly Pack)

It comes up if he start MC WITHOUT the launcher. Examples: .bat file (-cp) etc. Stop crying over it.

No. It is not. Do not make such baseless claims.

Decompile it if you want, there is nothing malicious there.

Also, looking into people not finding any flax, works for me though...

Seems to be fixed, they are just very rare! I found a few (3) on a world I just created. If you really want to you can download Flax again.

as a slight suggestion, make it so when you harvest them, there is a slight chance to drop 2 seeds, that way, for those of us that like to make farms of growable items, we can continue to grow our crops, and store a stockpile as well.

but anyway, i like it, it added another crop for me to grow in my farm, and wasnt incompatable with other mods i have.

I like this Mod very much, sometimes spider hunting for string can be a pain, but this adds another source to the game. I just have a suggestion, you should try to boost the spawn rate a little bit higher, though not to high. I think at this time Flax are just a little to hard to find, but still worth it.

Do you have any future plans for any other Mods? I think you should definitely keep making them, with time and effort you could create a lot of good Mods.
