Optical illusions are something that have always amazed me, and one night while lying in bed I wondered if it would be possible to make an optical illusion within minecraft. After a few hours of messing around with trial and error methods I could not come up with anything that would work. I know it is possible I just can't do it myself. So I want to see what other people can come up with. So if you can make an optical illusion in minecraft, with whatever materials you have at your disposal feel free to show them off here. I can't wait to see what people can come up with.  B)

I'm too lazy and not skilled or clever enough, but I think it would be possible to create something like the penrose triangle, if you don't know what it is you can google it.

The penrose triangle was what got me started thinking about the whole thing. I was hoping that someone would be able to create this or an infinite staircase.

One infinite staircase.

Actually quite impressive. It's just a shame that minecraft only really uses cubes which kinda makes this one fairly impossible to perfect, but I like it.

not bad, the ratio is a little off but a great attempt, would this be possible with actual stairs?

Whoa. Those are amazing.

As for the Penrose triangle... I can barely draw that, let alone build it in Minecraft xD I'd really like to see someone try it.

I tried lololol... I think the shadows and my own lack of spatial reasoning sort of messed it up lol

Despite what you may think, you have done a good job there. The simplistic design really works and you barely notice the shadows. 9/10 great job! :iapprove:

Wow, seriously that is the best one yet, it's very difficult to detect where the smoothstone ends and the illusion begins, very good job.

One could totally make an optical illusions texture pack. Might destroy your eyes, but it could be cool.

You can just barley see that corner which gives it away.  Nice work.
All the others are sweet, too.  :Diamond:
