So I got Minecraft Alpha but how do I update it to the latest patch. I heard theres new stuff like fences and compasses but I can't make em, how do I download the latest version?

All you have to do is start minecraft and it should update automatically.

We're on version 1.2.6 right now but mine says it's on 1.2.2
None of the mods I'm trying to download are working
i backed up the minecraft file first and then put it back in
if i delete the minecraft folder and then try to open the game it says its downloading the info, but then it frezes on the loading page

back up ur saves folder....
delete the entire .minecraft folder
download and run the .exe
replace saves folder
sorted yus?

it didnt work and it says i have to play online to play ofline but ive payed for it 
plz i deleted the hole minecraft. folder and it still wont wook

Did your world disappear from minecraft? Is it corrupt? Lags? Can't move? "Saving Chunks" Crash? Crashes when you open chests? It can be saved!
