Discussion about a Minecon 2011 event has made it's way onto Notch's official blog in two recent polls designed to estimate the attendance and location of the event. The most recent tally puts over 30,000 respondents listed as "yes" or "maybe" for attendance. Here are the most recent poll results regarding the interest in attendance of Minecon 2011:

There were also several options for a place to hold the event, and while Las Vegas was listed as Mojang's front runner, they also gathered community feedback.Here are the most recent poll results regarding the location of Minecon 2011:

I think Notch :iapprove:  should think outside the box when it comes to picking a location! Maybe a location like Newfoundland! One of the best places to live in Canada! Great people, Great scenery, great food. Over all an Awesome place.

Im liking the sound of Vegas since I live a few hours away :D Canada would be awesome as well, preferably Calgary, I gots myself a summer/winter home there :P

I think if it's in the U.S. it should be somewhere central. Maybe Chicago, St. Louis, or Indianapolis. All of those are easier to get to for people in the U.S. than Los Angeles, or New York.

As for you foreigners, I don't really know how it would work for you guys lol.

Indianapolis would be an excellent location, central, and GenCon runs there every year. Local hotels work with them for pricing, I'd see no reason why they wouldn't work with this one.
