I know it's been a month since last post, but I just got a brand new HP i5 dual core etc...

Just downloaded minecraft on here and it's averaging about 4-5 fps, sometimes dropping to 0.
I have distance at tiny, graphics as fast, priority at high... not sure what to do  :chestfront:

You likely have a ton of bloatware installed. Get rid of all of it.

I tried all of these and even using software to make my computer run faster. All of them worked wonders but Minecraft still runs very choppy. Is there anything else I could do?
Maybe your computer doesnt meet the minimal requirements to play Minecraft.  My computer exceeds the recommended requirements . a lot.

Take a look at OptiFog, it should help: http://www.minecraft...ifog-fps-boost/

The options that you need are
- Advanced OpenGL: FAST
- Fog: FAST
- Smooth FPS: ON

Give more power to Minecraft in Task Manager (Ctrl, Alt + Delete)
Not everyone uses windoze. If you're on a linux system (probably Ubuntu), press Alt+F2 then type in gnome-system-monitor. Find the "java" process and lower its nice value (right click menu)

I might factory restore my PC, do I need a disc or something?

If you bought Windows 7 separately from your computer, you should have a disc of some sort.
If your Windows 7 came with the laptop, you can easily make one.

Yea my friend does that sometimes, I avoid it because other areas of your PC become very unstable and your PC can crash.  :D
so just to be sure putting it onto high priority wont break my computer?
