Internal exception: java.net.socketException: Connection reset

I have not had problem like this before.  I have ran a minecraft server the same way for a year now.  The problems started when I want to 1.5. :\

I tried reinstalling my VPS but it did not help. There is my VPS specs

Server 1.5 got memory leaks, and that is also what the logs tell you - it has run out of memory.

If you can, then add some more RAM.

A way to fight it is to tweak the java execution commands and restarting the server a couple time a day.

Hmm, something might be corrupted - either the world data or the server files.

If it is the world data then you can try:

well I reinstalled my VPS and started it with a stock Minecraft server.  My clan is going to a new map so everything is new.  and OS is using about 48MB right now so that leaves around 1.5 GB for the server.  I have also tried many different options.  Not sure what's going on.

Use McMyAdmin, if your server is crashing, it quickly saves the map and boots the server back up.

Depends, servers with many user (60 to 100) and quite a few plugins uses from 8 to 16 GB of RAM (because the minecraft_server.jar code isn't very optimized).

This is a major problem as I stated before.

I am running 100% stock
on a newly installed VPS
with 1.5 GB Ram 2.3Ghz

It crashes empty in about 2 min.

How do you install and what version of Debian (x86/x64)?
