Me be making a converter that turns maps into isometric graphics.

A lot needs to be done, and so I won't release it now, but I figure I can get some feedback now.

Looks like you have only solid colors so far. How well could you support textures? And transparencies?

Or even map slices. That would be wicked.

I updated the thread with the full map rendered.

Dunno what you mean by "edit", but I want to say that this is not a map editor.

I can use the "official" blocks from the game, but not to render the whole map. I will probably make it so you can view a small section of the map at a time with high quality textures, but you can only export with tiny blocks (to save memory)

Anyway, if you have any maps that you wish to be turned isometric then post them. I need lots of maps to test this!

And water and glass have transparency. Glass needs to be fixed though :S Will have an option to turn off cause it can cause lag.

Nice, how do you do it? Raycasting or rendering slices on top of each other?

Also can you post the .dat/.mine of that map? It's pretty cool.

You should have the export use Hi-Q textures and the viewable render use solid.

That makes more sense.

Pretty neat, i really like the way it looks on isometric.
If you want some map to test, mine got a crazy dimension, even though is kinda empy.

The point of this is to not have the slices, to see them nicely.  Also, here is my city map, please do your thing:

Any idea when it will be released?
How long does it take to render?
If it is near instantaneous (render time) it could be the
minimap thing that has been suggested thousands of
times

I'm going to post a script to import/export maps in my voxel editor, do you mind if I include your map as example?
