Requires the use of either MCPatcher or Optifine

Doesn't contain textures for any mods (e.g. Random Mobs)

Hello Minecraft community,

this is my first texture pack. I'm working and updating it since May 2011. It's basically the default or 'Vanilla' Minecraft texture pack resized to 256x256 pixels.

It retextures almost everything and is frequently updated.

You probably won't see any difference to the default textures until you're close up to the blocks.

To make the textures look better I'm using GIMP to apply bump maps I made for those (using different pictures of the respective material) as well as a few filters. The 128x and 64x versions are basically downscaled versions and are much less detailed than the main 256x version but also less resource hungry.

This pack is discontinued, please take a look at the Vanilla Series which replace this.

Thanks guys, I just released a first version. It's not 100% complete and only retextures the terrain but you might want to take a look. I will update the screenshots soon (resp. when the terrain is more complete)

Reminds me of the detail texturing technique used in Unreal Tournament. Good work :Diamond:

Words cannot describe how happy you have made me.......
This is the continued version of the Defaultex Hi/Low Hybrid that got discontinued, right.
If it isn't then bravo you have made my favorite texture pack!
I'm giving you my first Smilie ever.

Looks amazing, I especially like how the pixels are still there (in a way), unlike most other high-realism packs.

I'll download it once some of the items have been edited  :D

Great idea!
I was thinking of doing something like this for 64x64, to keep graininess down and quality up.
I'm terrible at items though.. so I wouldn't dare attempt it.

That, and for the lulz a 256x256 would be amazing. X|

Glad you like it :D

I just uploaded a version with corrected colors (you'll see the difference at the dirt texture) and items.png (resized with filters and bumpmaps).

EDIT: Added armor textures :Pig:
EDIT²: Fixed bug with the 'destroy' animation, added GUI textures

I just uploaded a new version with not so cold and dark colors, more like the original one (it still looks a little bit darker due to the bumpmaps I used for the textures)
