what does pine look like?

...tehre is no redwood, only normal wood, birch, and dark...

There's normal wood, presumably deciduous trees.

Then there's Birch.

And finally either Pine or Spruce, which are dark-looking. They grow in the north.

If you're referring to the Taiga's trees, they're a darker shade of brown and have darker leaves as well.

redwood is another name for the pine wood in snow biomes, just look around in those for the trees shaped like chirstmas trees and there are the pine trees.

This is a redwood tree.
However, your probably referring to the darkwood or birch trees.

I don't believe your item is in the game, If you are looking for a X-mas like tree look in snow biomes.

Yes. Pines yield pine, but it all converts to the same thing. It's just darker.

They tend to grow in the snow & look kinda like pagodas, if you know what that is.
I blame Minecraft for the letters on my W, A, S, & D keys being completely gone.
