Biome Caves
By Hogofwar (creator of the Fossils mod)

Download (Don't forget  Modloader!)

What is Biome Caves?
Biome Caves is simply a mod that makes all the caves generated in a snow biome made of ice and all caves generated in desert chunks into sand/sandstone (32% chance of spawning sandstone).
This also includes a modification to ice, causing them to not turn into water when in a cold biome and adding the ability to put anything on them (so you can easily put torches down in ice caves)
Don't worry, ores won't be covered up (except for when sand falls). Also, the mod only detects caves below level 63, so there won't be any above ground ice caves.

This mod also adds ice and sand dungeons which generate within their respective biomes, but with the same loot as normal.

I wonder what would happen if a lava spring would be generated inside one of them ice caves.
Not much I think, but it would probably look awkward.

Yeah, currently doesn't do anything abnormal, breaking an ice block next to lava spawns obsidian around where it used to be though.

This would actually give me a reason to explore the snow area in my map. Have only been there for a short while and didn't see a need to go there really.

Wait. Will this change already generated snow biomes?

If not I suppose I could just delete the chunks and regenerate them. :RedShroom:

Torches won't melt ice in a cold biome (which ice caves are in)

Any idea what other kind of caves you'll add? (:

This would be a great addition to the biome terrain idea.
