Easy Custom Furnace Fuels
By Hogofwar (creator of the Fossils mod)

Download (Don't forget Modloader!)

Description
This mod adds a quick and simple way to add custom fuels for the furnace (the item/block that burns such as coal or wood)
All you have to do to use this mod is install then create and edit a text file!

Installation
There are 2 different ways to install this mod, i will list them both here:

Way A (easiest, safest):
For this to work you must have the absolute latest Modloader.

1) Copy the zip file you downloaded to your .minecraft/mods/ directory.
2) Run the game to see if it worked
3) Done!

Way B (harder, less convenient):
(Make sure to install Modloader before this)
1) Open up %appdata%, if you don't know how to do this, start>run, then type in %appdata%
2) Browse to .minecraft/bin
3) Open up minecraft.jar with WinRAR or 7zip.
4) Drag and drop (AKA copy) the files in the zip into the jar.
5) Delete the META-INF folder in the jar.
6) Run Minecraft and enjoy!

(Thanks Risugami)

Setting up
  • Go into the minecraft folder (It should have folders named bin/resources/texturepacks)
  • Create a folder named "mods" (without the quotation marks) if one does not already exist.
  • In the mods folder make a txt file called "cfurnace".
    [*d]In the cfurnace.txt file refer to the below example:
//example format
//This example cfurnace data makes the default wooden tools burn. 268, 269, 270 are all the item IDs of the tools while 200 is the burnrate.
//200 means the rate will smelt exactly one block. 400 means the rate it is going at will smelt 2 blocks and so on.
//(amount you want to smelt*200)

268=200
269=200
270=200
271=200
290=200
  • Save cfurnace.txt and run minecraft to test out your configuration!

Requires Modloader

>:( I'm making Netherrack burn at 1:1. Now I'll have a use for all the Netherrack I get from mining out my super cave fortress.

:Diamond:'s for you. ^^ Awesome Mod.

//I think you can also override the default fuel rates aswell, though this is not tested.
Just letting you know that modLoader can not override the default values (the "furnace" mod from my modpack does allow overriding - if interested).

multiversion (java reflection)? interesting methodology! I believe it can be limited tho, but anyway interesting concept!
I wonder what other things could be made multiversion, and most importantly, that they be made separate of other things version dependant :>
