Updated - Version 5
Yes This was more than big enough to deserve another release.
Changelog:
No "setting up" (includes new launcher)
Compatible with ALL versions.
Compatible with windows. Linux/mac broken for now.
AnyCraft now ~89Kb (with new launcher)
nice update, but now i cant run it from the jar, because with 4.1, i could run it from the jar, and run it from school, but now i have to run it from the bat file. please fix this or make this functional again plz.
You're supposed to run it from the batch file.
It functions fine. Nothing is broken.
Is there a way to get an error log out of your launcher? I would think it would be possible like with the linux launcher by running in in the command line with

However that only runs the launcher without actually showing the game loading process or errors.
Thank you for the very constructive feedback, I really appreciate it.
All that is needed to launch AnyCraft is "java -jar AnyCraft.jar" or by double clicking it since it is an executable.
Adding -Xmx or -Xms to anycraft does not affect the game.
As of right now it does not give console output.
Will have test release up soon today.
I will be adding the support for command line arguments next, probably by having an AnyCraft.properties file which would simplify everything and have options for -Xm and command line output.
The current default memory options are -Xmx1024M and -Xms512M.
I think this should be in the Tools section--it doesn't "modify" minecraft persay, so I'd think it wouldn't be a "mod". :tongue.gif:
I'm quite interested in this; this could be a very useful thing to have for my mod development and testing. :smile.gif: I'll give it a try when I have a chance, and let you know what I think of it.
Edit: Looking at other posts/feedback, though, I'd like to note that I personally like seeing console feedback when I play Minecraft. It's nice to see errors that don't crash the game but may need to be fixed anyway.

Well it used to modify Minecraft class files, I moved away from that approach and made a completely universal "Mod".
It's so universal now, it doesn't modify files anymore >_<
That's one of the main reasons I made this, mods.
I like the console as well, and you're in luck. I just finished adding console debugging. Grab the latest version. 5.7.
Also I included support for max and min memory settings.
Update 5.7
Changelog:
Added support for a cfg file.
Added support optional debug output
Added support for -Xmx and -Xms options
To enable debug output change debug to true in the cfg and run the respective bat|sh file.
Otherwise just set debug to false and run the AnyCraft.jar directly
Just a tiny note, when your compressing the folder to upload you should compress one step up, the zips your uploading are all called anycraft_latest with anycraft_5.7 inside. Not a big deal but just makes it easier for me to keep track of what version I have.

I was just using default add to Blah.zip.
As for the name and contents, I'm using dropbox so I just overwrite the AnyCraft_Latest.zip with the latest one.
It was only easier uploading so I don't have to generate a new short url each update. So latest.zip is always the latest. Which is why I named the internal folder with the version.
Not that you would want the older versions :tongue.gif:
Oh also I added in the console support for you. Enjoy.

No worries, it was more a matter of convenience.
However Following the instructions I seem unable to get the console to display the startup and error log, opening the .bat shows the command prompt for a moment and then just opens minecraft like normal.
Here's what the settings file looks like atm:
#Max memory: format xmx=-Xmx1024M
xmx=-Xmx1024M
#Min memory: format xms=-Xms512M
xms=-Xms512M
#Console output: true/false
debug=True

You are right. I must have messed something up after I tested it.
I'll fix that right up. Give me a few minutes.
There's something fishy going on.
it properly reads debug=true
yet it doesn't pass the if(debug=="true")
It should be fixed and all working now.
for some reason it wouldn't go through the if statement
Had to change to boolean. :\
And now i'm getting an error from winrar when trying to extract the 2 jars >.<

FML.
The zip should work fine. You must have downloaded it as it was updating.
Alright debug mode is always on now. Removed it from options.
Updated 5.7_02
Changelog:
Console output always on, unless AnyCraft.jar is run directly.
Fixed internal problems.
Changed defaults.
AnyCraft.properties is optional
Defaults are: xmx1024 and xms512
Yes this does.
Just follow the instructions and don't update.
Let me know the exact version so I can compile for it.

No "setting up" (includes new launcher)

AnyCraft now ~89Kb (with new launcher)
Fixed Linux/Mac compatibility.
Screen shots coming up.

It functions fine. Nothing is broken.
But I'll make a self executing jar anyway.
Changelog:
Made AnyCraft self executing (just run the jar directly)
More internal coding magic.
However that only runs the launcher without actually showing the game loading process or errors.

If it helps I know that the output on the command prompt only works with the linux version not the windows one

I take that back. Debug is always on now. For some reason its not working yet the memory options work fine.
