Make sure you have these options:

*=IMPORTANT

Graphics: Fast*
Render Distance: Tiny*
Smooth Lighting: Off*
Preformance: Balanced
3D Anaglyph: Off
View Bobbing: Doesn't matter
GUI Scale: Auto
Advanced OpenGL: On*
Brightness: Doesn't matter
Clouds: Doesn't Matter
Particals: Minimal*

These are what I have. My computer sounds a lot like yours. Try it! Also, have no texture pack, or mods (except optifine or any other that increase preformance). Hope it helps! Posted Image

I believe that laptops aren't just for work, they can be for on the go gaming
Lately my laptop is just not my friend
I used to play Tf2 a lot but since i don't play it much anymore i got rid of it and i sped up on minecraft
now i have the same problem with fps...when i load a normal world (not superflat) i have good fps until i find a village... i only have 3 games which aren't very big.
one of them is constanly being updated so i have toupdate whenever i play, im thinking about getting rid of it but i haven'r made my descion yet.
Alienware is a good computer company that sells decent desktops and laptops for gaming
If you get gamebooster you may have better fps but i haven't tried it yet....

Hmmm... maybe try some of the links people are leaving in the replies. I don't have anything to help, but maybe they do.

If the optifine mod fixes it, it's a problem with the game, and therefore, mojang CAN fix it,bu they choose not to.

Hi. Minecraft runs slow on my very fast laptop. Its got a 4 core processor at 2.4 GHz with turbo of 3.0 GHz, 6 GB DDR3 memory (RAM), Intel HD grapics 3000 with 1760 MB DVM (Dynamic Video Memory). Its OS is windows 7, and i'm using a 64-bit java. I also have the multi-core Optifine mod installed (set to the fastest settings) and that increases my frame rate from 15 to 25. Can anyone help me? If you can, please reply.

the reason must be your computer might not have much ram or bits to run at its best, or your computer might have to much program, just uninstall some of your uneeded programs and see if that works.

Guys, here is the most simplist suggestion in the world. If you want a laptop for gaming, get over $2000, search for "Alienware Laptops" and buy one. Just don't get the 16, 17 or 18mx versions. They are as heavy as (Censored)! So get your gaming laptop today!

To fix the RAM issue, you need to make a new text file named what ever you want in the folder where a jar Minecraft launcher is located.
Open it up in Notepad and type into the file:

java.exe -Xmx512M -Xms256M -cp ~MINECRAFTJARLAUNCHERNAME~.jar net.minecraft.LauncherFrame
pause
File > Save As > Name it "~WHATEVERYYOUWANT~.bat"
