[1.5_01] Compressed Cobblestone BUGFIX! [v1.6]

Do you want me to update this with the Coming Soon additions or just let this die?

Tired of having 20+ chests filled with Cobblestone or Stone?
Wish you could have an easier storage solution?
Then Easy-Off BAM Compressed Cobblestone And Stone is for you!

This mod adds compressed cobblestone/stone, crafted by a 3x3 square of cobblestone/stone. Can then be crafted back into 9 cobblestone/stone.

All your storage problems = Gone lowered!

Note - The above recipe is the same for Compressed Stone, just replace the cobblestone with stone.

Note - Putting Compressed Stone in the crafting grid returns 9 stone.

Where Boringstone Cobblestone is on the right, and Awesomestone Compressed Cobblestone on the left.

Compressed Stone looks like normal stone.

Thanks to StrykDem for some ideas.


How to install:

1. Press Windows Key and R
2. Type in %appdata%
3. Go to the .minecraft folder
4. Go to the bin folder
5. Open your minecraft.jar in an archiver program like WinRAR.
6. Open the .zip you downloaded in an archiver program like WinRAR or extract them to a folder.
7. Drag all the files into minecraft.jar
8. DELETE META-INF

Wow...
I've honestly never seen anyone do this before.

Perhaps make the compressed cobblestone more durable than normal cobblestone?

That would give it some benefits along with compact storage.

I know right!?! After seeing yet ANOTHER compressed redstone block, the idea hit me! COMPRESSED COBBLESTONE! After a quick google search, I found nothing that did this, and decided to make this!

By durability do you mean how long it takes to mine or explosive resistance?

Edit: I realised you could possibly mean tools, and if so, theres no tools. (Yet, I will try to make them in the near future but we shall see how it goes. I tried once before and I got bombarded with errors :SSSS: )

Yes, I could honestly see something like that going into minecraft since it would add yet another goal to the game for players. Now instead of building up their castles and just being done with it, they can fortify them with all the cobblestone they have laying around.

Good for SMP I would have to say.

compressed wood.
compressed chests.
compressed beds.
compressed portals. 0_o
compressed.........

Am doing compressed smoothstone now aswell as making them more explosive resistant, expect an update SOON!

Also! I need an idea for the Compressed Stone texture

Do a:

Compact Cobblestone (x9 Compressed Cobblestone)
More Explosive resistance then Compressed Cobblestone
Obsidian Cobblestone (x9 Compact Cobblestone)
Explosive resistance equal to that of Obsidian

Because let's face it, after digging a mine shaft you have thousands of cobblestone...

No, I never released it :D I also don't really know how to use sites like dropbox, so it's ok, wasn't reaally planning on releasing it, it was more of a way for me to learn java/use MCP :D Never even finished it, just a some code to finish off, textures to make for blocks and thats it... ok I wasn't five minutes off, but whatever xD.

Features (some weren't finished):

1. Compressed Cobblestone
3. Extremely Compressed Cobblestone
4. Recipe to go from compressed cobblestone to normal stone
5. Processed cobblestone (a smoother looking cobblestone)
6. Compressed normal stone
7. Extremely compressed normal stone
8. Compressed Redstone
9. Compressed Coal (fuel's furnace for 64 uses)
10. Compressed Flint
11. Compressed wool
12. Compressed Dyes
13. Craftable :soil:
14. Craftable Obsidian
15. Compressed Obsidian
15. Compressed Wheat
16. Compressed Gunpowder

I also wanted to make a super TNT and super bread, using compressed gunpowder and compressed wheat, but I havn't a clue how to do it. Maybe you could take on some of these ideas. It was mainly just a mod for easier storage.

Coulda called it CompressedCraft :3

Haha, agreed, I don't think I'm too bad, but it usually ends up taking me longer to do the textures then the code, because I'm a little too, "has to be perfect, and look right".

i have a idea: if you smelt compessed cobble, you get compressed stone, which in turn can be taken for 9 stone. this reduces the time for smelting stone by x9

Can you make the cobblestone metadata to the cobblestone block? That way it won't break saves...
