A 60 slot server started in December '10 (formerly called Helicraft) with many worlds currently available to explore and build in. Of the original pre-merge worlds, Persephone, Whitefall, and Bellerophon were pre-generated to ~4500x4500 blocks using bucyruss' original BiomeTerrainMod (Bellerophon using Reikos' Sky Gardens settings); Haven is a small nether environment, and Miranda was added shortly after the 1.8 release to take advantage of the new terrain generator. The use of client-side fly mods such as zombe is enabled for registered users. We use LogBlock to identify, ban, and roll back griefers, and in addition users can protect their own projects with WorldGuard.
In January '12 we started a second server, Independence Minecraft, with a different philosophy. This server was set up with a building world (Hera), in which you have to claim a Residence in order to build, and multiple resource worlds. The builds in Hera are essentially immune to griefing, but griefing and pvp are permitted in the resource worlds. The server has a basic economy and most materials can be purchased. Client-side fly mods such as zombe are permitted in Hera, but are disabled in the resource worlds for a more visceral survival experience.
As of June '12 both servers have been merged, hopefully maintaining as much of the distinct character of each as possible.
New players will have build rights in the 'Indiecraft' worlds and can do everything registered users can except creating showcase shop blocks. If you want to set up a shop or build in the original 'Helicraft' worlds you will have to request them by replying to this post - please be patient and give me or one of the admins/mods a few hours to get permissions set up.
Applications should meet the following criteria:
- include your ingame name
- state whether or not you have ever been banned from another server, if you have give me some details on that ban
- create a suitable (meaning pretty) audition building in Hera, and include your full residence name. If you can include screenshots as well that would be helpful.
- applications should be in English, with no trace of aolese (otherwise known as internet slang) or SMS conventions

Notes:
The server is colocated at Netelligent in Montreal, Quebec, on a dedicated server with dual Xeon L5420 processors, 16GB RAM, and two 1TB hard drives in a RAID1 array.
