Summary:
a infinite Dungeon on a different dimension (like nether),a tiny bit like http://www.neurogrill.net/mc/mcmapper.htm the Dungeon will have like save points and also special blocks and mobs for certain areas. The map will be a compilation of rooms (community made, myself made and randomly generated) different area of the map will be differnt themes (this will effect the type of randomly chosen room) and i think im going to make the method of getting too and from the Dungeon an item.
More depth:
the rooms will be randomly select based on the theme(a bit like biomes)
the rooms can ether be a premade room(fetch from a file[prob schematics]) or a random generator
one of these random generated room could be a maze but i could prob think of more rooms that could be randomly generated.
The Dungeon will have no specific goal but there will be boss room with special rewards and difficult puzzles
(puzzle might have part of them randomly generated to make them slightly different each time like if it was a lever challenge the correct lever would be differnt each time the room got placed)
Edit: i have modified my idea slightly
There will be servel themed path ways ending with a boss room. A boss room could be A Boss Mob, A realy hard puzzle, just a treasure room, ect.....
the map will still be infinite and you might have repetition of rooms(of course you will if you play it long enogh) but i will try to make this unlikely. but lots of the rooms will be randomly generated (like maze) making it still a challenge. also as you go further down a themed path it will get harder.
where the S are is example of randomly generated spawn save points
it will be like that when i release the final product...
I need help from:
-> modders (i am a modder and will doing most of the code but i will need all the help i can get)
-> pixel artist
->idea people
-> People who can make rooms (rooms could be as simple as a stairwell)
->Testers (not yet)
-> and any one else who think they can help
stuff to discuss Themes, Mobs, Blocks, items, rooms, structures, connection to this world, boss rooms, challenge rooms, rooms that can gen... Please post any question or idea
FIRST!
Wait... Now I need to contribute.
To give it a 'real' infinite dungeon affect, maybe make the walls/roof/floor blocks unbreakable (but that'd take the Minecraft feel away).
I'd love to be a tester for the Mod. And I'll give as as many ideas as my mind will allow.

Yeap i think i will make it so that everything is indestructible except certain blocks.
im think about also make a block that you cant place another block next too it..
Mhm, I have got experience with pixelig and beta testing, I could help you.
anyways, I cant wait for this to release :ohmy.gif:
to you- just mine it out first :tongue.gif:
The portal of Mossy Stone would fit the idea perfectly I think. But, Mossy Stone is far too easy to get.
Would it be possible to make it that you could only build the Infinite Infernus portal in the Nether? Then you'd have to get a Nether Portal, create a basic walled area (which can be pretty damn hard, mind you), and then you'd have to make the portal.
It creates a much larger challenge than just needing the Mossy Stone. (Or at least more time devoted to the said task)

WOW!!! THAT'S AMAZING!!! THERE ARE SOOOOO MANY GRAMMATICAL AND SPELLING ERRORS!!!
oh, and the mod is a great idea aswell!
I might be able to help be a:
-> modders (though I can't mod atm)
-> pixel artist (though I am crap at designing)
->idea person (though I don't have any ideas)
->Testers (though I don... wait... That one might work!)
-> and any one else who think they can help (That's me!)
-> and make rooms, cuz that's easy!!!
Θάνατος/Thánatos = death in Greek, good name perhaps
or just THE LABYRINTH
k heres some cool ideas....sorry if they cut down other people but this is just my opinion
A definite Greek them as labyrinths originated in that country(at least the famous tale did), particularly in Knossos on Crete, so that good be something to study.
I believe it should basically be a generated maze of intricate corridors on several floors( the max being 64+64=128) . Each floor as a large area which is up to you mike.
the walls of the corridors should be made from unbreakable bricks
Then these floors are intersected randomly (very frequently) by challenges/rooms of any difficulty and size.
These rooms could be as simply as a ladder shaft or a stairwell but as complicated as an intricate trap that you must navigate.
There must be an entry and exit door into each room/challenge located on a floor and i think that these doors should be a one way thing. Once entertered you can't go back. This gives a flow and a feeling of rpg-ish to the game (which i think is good)
ALOT OF HELP WITH ROOM IDEAS WILL BE NEEDED
ok i reckon instead of set save points you should have to find/craft something that allows you to save at any particular point(out of combat). It would teleport you back to the real world and when you go back you arive in the exact point you left.
YOu should be given nothing at the start of the labrynth you must enter prepare with your own items. YOU NEED TO BE PREPARED IT WOULD BE VERY DIFFICULT
However rewards are given out after challenges are completed or a chest is discovered/you kill mobs with good drops (rare)
This leads onto how there should lots of new Mobs with cool + random drops (IDEAS PLEASE)
OK, i will describe what i think would make it a cool experience from start to finish in the next post
I'm not sure at all what your trying to make here.
All you have so far is the basic concept. ._.
Ok it a just a huge endless dungeon... on a different dimension so it doesn't get in the way.... you cant destroy block except special ones for puzzles...
1. create allegrathm for place rooms and paths together...(almost finished)
2. make stuff to make it dungeony
3.release infinite infernus(almost like a pre-release teaser for mazeworld)
4. modify it to make http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/329466-mazeworld-a-dimension-of-infinite-ruins/

Now all I need to do is gather millions of mossy cobblestone. which this will provide, and.... furiously do something with it.
god i love this stuffffffffffffffffff
Oh, sorry.
Make everything of mossy cobble, I love mossy cobble. gah...
mouthwatering

I can also do some pixel art, i have a texture pack named BensPack which you can check out to see my level of skill :smile.gif:
Pm me with some info if you want me to help :biggrin.gif:
and on the y it can be one of these numbers
6, 13, 20, 27, 34, 41, 48, 55, 62, 69, 76, 83, 90, 97, 104, 111, 118, 125

there will be new items and other things that will make you want to explore it... but it would be fun exploring it any way...
im currently working on the generation in particular placing rooms and making sure the connect...
Kind of reminds me of the "Dungeon Dimensions" (I think) From Terry Pratchett Novels =)
Actually, reminds of a multi dimension idea for Minecraft =) Makes modding so much cooler!
Lordy, this is inspiring me to learn JAVA =D
