Updates: Can be found on page 2 here.

My objective with this map was to make as modern a house as possible without using any mods at all. All of the textures are stock and I am using no mods.

House features:
- Interior lit multi-depth pool
- Pool recliners with lit umbrellas
- Hidden Recessed lighting
- Fine art gallery rooms
- Modern Sculpture
- Crafting Basement
- Helicopter pad
- Modern greenhouse with underwater lighting (grows stuff fast!)
- Exterior landscaping with lights in the trees
- Automatic doors lead out, keypad button must be used to get in
- Furnished living areas
- Glass lookout tower
- Large outdoor covered grilling station under tent
- Nice weather. Only sun and rain. No snow unless you walk out a ways.

I built the majority of this house in survival mode in another pre-biome world. I used MCEdit to take the house and grounds and transport it to a new world with biomes. This means if you want to download the files the underground and surrounding areas are completely untouched and ready for exploration. This makes this map a great starter map if you want to start out with a really pimped out house no other areas are built out other than the house.

After importing the world to the new biome I put it on a server so i could spawn diamond blocks for the pool and a bunch of clay for the walls and window frames. Other than that the entire thing was done in survival.

It's good I moved the house because the old world it was in was really ugly from me strip mining the sand for all the glass plus there was uncontrollable snow everywhere since patch 1.5. Plus it will make it more fun for people to download and explore in the untouched world around it.

Lightstone recessed behind glass for exterior lighting helped give it a modern look.

View from lookout tower showing helipad and roof. Iron blocks were used to hide ceiling lights and look like air conditioning ductwork.

Nice place to read a book. Repeated paintings make good pop art!

Had to use lava for the fireplace as the infinite wood burning trick wouldn't work on my server.

Took me a while to find this simple solution for modern looking stairs.

Furnished interior with sculpture. You can hide lightstone behind paintings for hidden lights!

Lightstone recessed behind glass was used for pool lighting.

Let me know what you all think. Love to get your input and ideas. Not sure what to build in it next.

This is pretty cool, much more luxsurious than my home lol.

One little niggle I have is about the pools, I think the deep pool should be at the same ground level but dug down deeper. Reason 1, it has a water flow to the shallow pool, which would suck if you got pulled down wile your relaxing. Reason 2, having steps up with water can make a slippy situation *face plant*.

Yeah i don't mind if anyone uses the house. Please enjoy. Would love to see how you modify it.

It might be hard to tell from the perspective in the photo. The hot-tub is raised up a bit above the pool so there is a little waterfall of water going down into the big pool.

The large swimming area has 3 levels of depth, kind of like a public pool would have.

That said, I did faceplant once getting out of the hottub while running from a creeper.

I know there are better textures available, but I find it a fun challenge to see what I can do with the default Minecraft tools.

I guess that makes me somewhat of a purist. But it's fun for me.

Defalt is awesome.

Minecraft is a sandbox, to enjoy it you need to have an imagination, so wheres the harm in using the defalt pack which everyone knows? If you have a different texture pack than the ones people are used to, you get asked what every stone is, which can totaly ruin the mood of a post.
