Everyone, I'd like to welcome our first new member to the RDF: Charmon21!
He impressed us with his professional manner, ability to learn, and drive to experiment with projects that are beyond his current capability.
We look forward to building with you Charmon21!
Thank you Berick. Unfortunately, I'm having some trouble with IRC, but will hopefully have that all sorted out soon. Bluedragon and I made considerable progress on creating a tic-tac-toe board. However, I will be away tomorrow through Sunday, and will not be able to continue working on it. If you are interested please check out what I have completed and send me a PM with your thoughts (I have a smartphone and will be able to check the internet if you need me).
Hello. I would like to join, but without a proper internet connection, I could not actively chat or be on often, but in a few months when we get internet back, i would love to join in this amazing group. My only redstone experience is wiring tnt cannons and poking around at your 5x5 display to recreate it to see how it works. I have actively played mc since i got an alpha key from my cousin, and i love to build anything.
Brainsaw: Hello! Sounds like you've been a minecrafter for a long time. Sadly, your Youtube video was blocked for me (due to copyrighted music), but you sound like you have some good experience and are enthusiastic. Head on over to our IRC channel and we can get the recruitment ball rolling.
UlteriorMotive: We plan on still being here in a few months, so we'll keep an eye out for ya. :wink.gif: Hope you learned something from the display!
I'd like to say welcome to the newest member of the RDF: Shrogg!
His skill with redstone was proven with his condensed 16 bit memory project (even if it is a little buggy :wink.gif: ), and he is currently researching various computer logic techniques that will come in handy for some of our more ambitious computer projects.
i would love to join i am eager to learn more about redstone I can make a light-switch, a hidden door a non-repeating arrow shooter, cool lighting affects powered mine-cart tracks, and also im very good at making puzzles those interest me the most. Also atm i myself own the minecraft from that website i forget where i got it but i cannot play multiplayer so i am buying the actual version so i can play and help and learn the magic powers of redstone and one question that really is annoying me how do i make a arrow shooter that doesn't stop?
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Minecraft is my life not because my life sucks or i just play it 24/7 it is my life because i eat it every morning [SSSS]
Duffreaper - to create a repeating dispenser, you need to create a clock. Much easier now with redstone repeaters. I'm on my phone so I can't provide any links with videos, but if you look on youtube you can find some great tutorials.
I would like to join, and receive a bit of information about the latest updates. I was formerly of the UTD, as you may or may not know, and might be able to help along. I will note that I am not likely to be very active (I have not been for a while), but I have some intermediate knowledge with regards to circuitry and programming.
Hey, lemme just post a clarification on the IRC situation.
I'm the primary admin for IRC, and I'm usually in from noonish to midnight, Indiana time. I stay logged in constantly, however, to maintain a concise chatlog and to allow notifications to be sent to me.
On the subject of a voice chat server, Who here would use it?
Because i find talking to people over irc dosent really accomplish anything great, whereas when you are talking to the person via ventrillo it allows so many more ideas to flow back and forth.
Well I had been kicking around an idea to myself on a Skype group, since that would require less than a ventrilo server, but it's kind of up to the group. I'd be up for voxchat, but I still feel IRC is a good system to use.
Free as in free beer is the best way to go for a voice chat software, unless somebody is willing to cover the costs with their own $$. The concept of coding our own using some open source Java libs is appealing to me, but I'm not sure if that's feasible, heh.
On another note, Gizmo in the OP should be replaced with Dingbat, which is essentially its successor, right?

Also, make sure you snag a copy of our charter, so you're familiar with everything.
Keep your redstone away from teh

We look forward to building with you Shrogg!
MetalHannes has shown his remarkable skill with redstone with his Conway's Game of Life
sMaGmA has some good project ideas, and has brought out the inner-geek in us with his lighted corridor system.
We look forward to building you guys!
Zaldarr will be helping us with public relations, managing project threads, and seeking out mods / modders to support.
We're glad to have you Zaldarr!
Although Themuffin is not as active as he has been in the past, he will be a great addition to our team.
Good to have you Themuffin!
Brainsaw: Patience :smile.gif: Also, you'll need to have some example work to show us. Such as the vending machine or displays you were talking about.

Sorry about any confusion there.
