So, Have you ever gotten tired of making those weird spiral things in your Redstone contraptions, Just to make it go up, well, look no further, the solution to your problem is here! Sticky Redstone! Sticky Redstone it simple, just add any old slime ball you have laying around to it, and there you go, the slime makes the dust sticky enough, to be stuck to walls!

redstone now travels up. requires no new crafting, and takes up just as much space as your idea.
But with sticky redstone, you won't need to use up as much space, because this remains nice looking on a wall (IMO) whereas the current way forces you to build a wall infront of the torches.

Granted, as someone who hides as much of his redstone as possible anyway, this suggestion has much less appeal for me, I concede others may feel differently. Just pointing out to the OP that this can be done, I guess :smile.gif:
EDIT: That said, it is possible to build aesthetically pleasing redstone torch towers.
Yes, i am aware of that, I've just had problems where the level i need the power on, ends up being where the block is, and not the torch, so then i need to make more of a mess to make that work, and if its not that high of going up, then it ends up looking weird and a mess, this would just make it simpler to move up a wall, just simply place it around, on the wall and no having to have a whole bunch of Redstone torches to make that

The vertical tower thing is somewhat inconvenient though. For example, you have to get the height exactly right other wise the current will either be opposite of what you need or will be one block above/below where you want it.
Since it is hard to find a lot of slimes, maybe the amount of sticky red stone should be more than one, maybe four? I know when you do encounter slimes, there is so much, but I am just saying that there spawning is the one flaw in this idea. If slimes get a bit more diverse on how they spawn, then this idea will suit the game decently. A for ur troubles.

I am just a guy looking for good suggestions that are original, creative, and match the theme of Mine-craft. I have some mob ideas that I need help forming which is a community project.
Once again, just as in every thread suggesting this: Slimeballs are too rare and difficult to get (compared to the abundance of redstone) to make this practical.

You made my day. Very balanced too.

Meh, i liked the idea of having Redstone powder with bits of green slime in it, holding it together making it sticky, like some kind of glue

= redstone
Which gives 8 sticky redstone.
It would be nice to finally have a use for slimeballs.
