Hello, Test Subject 315-B. I hope you didn't mind being locked in this cell for a few years. This is all for... science.

Finally, the mysterious overseer of the Smelted Diamond Testing Facility has allowed you the opportunity to leave. You will, however, have to pass some tests to get out. Will you escape, or will you be doomed to your cell for an eternity?

Hey, once again, Martin here. I've gone through a hell of a lot of SDFII setups (7 to be exact) and I spent months working on them at a time, but each time I see more and more ability to push the envelope. Now, I feel happy with my work. Now, SDF Phase II is deep in development. Check this thread for information.

--Alright, so this is my new map. It's less storyline based than Tales of Donnaford, and is more focused on puzzles and logic. It isn't too long (I can get through it in about ten minutes, but that might be because I know all the tricks), so it isn't massive. It's a nice map to play on your tea break, or if you have a few spare moments. I hope you'll enjoy it.

Note: There is a fiddly little rule. You can break anything you can collect. This is an explanation...
:D You can break wool, because you will pick up a block.
:D You can't break stone because it won't give a block.
You can't break glowstone, because it doesn't give you the block, but the dust.

Skins:
Guess what? This map comes with a custom skin! The orange jumpsuit is somewhat familiar.

And because I love you guys, I even made Honeydew and Xephos skins. You know you want them.

Well done, you have quite a few eggs, but there are still a few more to find!

I'm happy this looks like it's quite popular. I'm considering making a longer, more challenging map.

I love the map. As always I played it with my friend and at the end we blew each other up with TNT. =D
I escaped with 1 stack of 16 and 1 stack of 8 (24 total)
I enjoyed the map and I hope you make more.

Finished with 32 eggs. I'm guessing this is the max? Without any fowl help of course;) I enjoyed it. Um, I accidentally hit one of the wolves and almost died. That was the only hard part though.

Yup. 32 is the maximum. Well done. Celebratory mushroom. :o

And yeah, the map isn't difficult. I didn't want to make it a grueling trial. Just a little bit of fun.

I'm quite happy with the results of my testing. People like this map.

I'd love to see an LP of this, so if there's any takers...?

I recently downloaded this map, and I have to say that some of the early puzzles are rather devilish. I have yet to complete the overall task, but I come to you for a rules clarification; if one manages to dig oneself into a position from which it is impossible to return to the main testing track, is it acceptable for one to place a block in such a manner as to enable one's return to the course?

You may also think of this as a bug report; in the first (I am uncertain if there are more) cactus room, one may, without losing blocks, dig through and find a large pocket of dirt. If this dirt is properly excavated, return is impossible. There is water present, but it falls one block short of making a return path.

Sure thing. Generally it won't be needed though, except for possibly in the cactus room, which I have made a change to so that there's no dirt beneath it. I just added the no placing blocks rule so people didn't maybe stack sand in that room to make it easier.

All right, thanks for clearing that up! I will continue to work through the map, and shall post any more errors as they are discovered. Thank you for creating such an interesting map.

Edit;
All right, new error reports. Firstly, it is possible to remove a certain chest above a flat plane of water (hopefully you know where, I'm not going to say it,) in order to access fresh air. You cannot leave the facility in this manner, but it was belived that you may have interest in knowing. Second, an early sign says something about smelting "the third cobble." However, no cobble has been made available at any time during the adventure thus far.

1) Yeah, just a small aesthetic problem. I'll fix that in an update.
2) You are given three cobble at the start, and people might think you would get a stick later for a lever, so they would leave the third cobble. That's what I would have done anyways.

Well, in that case there must be (or must have been, if you've updated,) a problem with the save. In my instance of the game, no cobble was in the starting inventory, and no cobble was presented via a chest. There is cobble present below some rooms, but it is in solid form, and so unretrievable.

The furnace in the start presented three peices of cobblestone. You need two to be smelted and make a pressure plate or button.

We have a video playthrough! WOO! :o

Majoolwip has uploaded a two-part video of him playing through. Broke a few rules, and got some help from mother nature. But still played through very well.

With the roving success, I'm working on a sequel!

However, I do have a priority list now:

-Crystal Cavern
-The Smelted Diamond Facility: Second Slice (Working Title)
-Survival: Nether

Once CC gets through, SDF: Second Slice will be worked on religiously.
