I recently built my PC and when installing the CPU cooler I accidntaly spilt some thermal paste on the prongs of the CPU and a tiny bit on the motherboard ( near CPU socket ) I didn't think much of it so I finished my build but now when I connect the dvi cable to my monitor it doesn't find the gpu.. Everything seems to be working in my opinion .. Like all the fans are running but it won't put any picture on the screen
How can I update bios without being able to see screen or able to install windows?
You'd have to get a Bulldozer CPU. Not worth it at all.
Exchange the motherboard for another one which doesn't have this issue.
Or if you don't want to be bothered replacing the motherboard, contact ASRock support and see if they can tell you how to fix the issue.
I really wouldn't start blaming the motherboard quite yet, at the very least he should check out the motherboard revision and BIOS version. It's entirely possible that he has a DOA GPU or he has fried his PCI-e slot with thermal paste. It's also possible that he forgot a power cable.
The thermal past is only near the CPU and I also switched the gpu into different slots but that didn't help.. But is there a way to check the motherboard before my friend ( yes this is a friends build I was just helping him ) buys a new one?

I don't think we missed any cables but it's possible.. I mean I double checked but there could be a hidden one I'm just not rembebering

First try switching out the graphics card with another one which you are sure works.
If it works, contact the EVGA and tell them you got a DOA card.
If it doesn't contact ASRock or the seller of your board and ask them if you can exchange for a different one which supports Vishera CPUs by default.

I was gonna out my 780 in it but then I thought if the system kills my card I would be ed so ima put the card from his build into my build
Here's the build : http://pcpartpicker.com/p/35Vtn
Sounds like a DOA graphics card to me.
Potential Issues/Incompatibilities
PSU: Corsair CX600M
STEAM
It's a cx500 watt power supply from a friend.. It works fine
