Hello, Im a console gamer building my first desktop. Im really bad with tech lingo and have only played Minecraft 360, so apologies incase I say something wrong.
The computer will be used for general internet surfing, microsoft office, and Minecraft with Feed The Beast. Initially Im only interested in Tekkit and probably a train mod, but again, I dont know too much about FTB. I just want to be able to play Minecraft with the mentioned mods on "Normal" settings. I also excited to join Steam to catch up on the best pc games of the past decade, so thats something to consider with a GPU. I just want to enjoy playing games, normal settings, with no hickups.
I dont really know what overclocking is, so Im not concerned about it. I also dont know what SLI or Crossfire is.
My budget is >$600, and Id like to stick to $500 knowing that I can upgrade individual components in the future. Im using newegg.ca and so far this is what Ive got, but I dont know how to match up a mobo to CPU to GPU. Also, I have a keyboard and mouse, and 17" monitor. I would love to buy a proper size monitor if it can fit the budget, otherwise Ill pick one up in a couple months.
