So it might be a little easier for people to get support for there computer problems
And its pretty annoying if your a master with windows related issue and you see a thread asking for help
and your like "i got this" and you click it and its a macbook air problem
So what im trying to say is that there should be subforms for Windows Support and Mac Support
and maybe a custom building subform to clean up the clutter from serious hardware issues and just people asking for help making a custom build
so what do you think? should there be subforms for these?
I think the current setup is already good enough. If sections were to be added for specific OS support, then we would need sections for Windows, Mac, and Linux. On top of that, would each of those sections include both hardware and software related topics? This section used to be one section and it became a mess because there was no organization. Splitting it into hardware and software allows for plenty of topics to fit into each section without becoming too fragmented. Creating very specific sections would only result in more clutter.
The problem with a thread for custom building too is that you then have some people asking for prebuilts in hardware and others asking for custom builds in the new section. It creates more clutter than it cleans up.

Nobody's perfect, so neither is Hannah Montana Linux, but it's pretty great.

They all suck. They just suck differently. Sort of like prostitutes.

hmm.. good point what about a Custom Build and Prebuilt section?

One thing that should be fairly apparent is that the SCT section of the Minecraft forums receives little traffic day-to-day. Most threads here either end quickly or last around two weeks at most. Honestly, the main problem I see is that many users creating threads here don't even make proper use of the current subsections. Just about every one of the threads posted on the main page of this subforum could be easily moved into either the hardware section or the software section.
Basically, there isn't even enough activity in this subforum to justify creating more sections.
I have taken note of certain things which could be changed though to create a little more organization. When I look at the main page, I notice there is only one pinned topic(which nobody really reads btw). We have had a number of threads on the main page which should have been pinned due to their longevity and overall traffic. The desktop wallpaper and speedtest threads have been going for a long time and should really just get pinned already. They are relevant to the subforum and generate lots of activity, so why not. Then in the hardware section we have a thread for posting pictures of your computer system that could be pinned.
A big thing I would like to point out as well is the absence of a general science section. This subforum is titled Science, Computers, and Technology, but how often do we see anything other than computer related threads? Technology still fits into the other sections to a point, but science is left out, forgotten. If we are to add any new sections to this subforum, it really should be a Science section.
