Fast Mod Installer is a tool for Minecraft that helps you install your mods without accessing your Application Data folder and minecraft.jar file manually.
MD5: a3d910eba1d2d8e7daeb547cdc48d396
Here is a second version with 7za.exe excluded from InstallMods.exe (no b2e* during installation, no false virus alarms):
MD5: 056cb23ae9380e281e1be9c9ab5c6134
INFO:
Installs every mod that requires access to the minecraft.jar file.
Supports class, png and lang extensions so there will be no unnecessary files installed.
Supports zip archives for texture packs. All zip files are moved into texturepacks folder.
Automatically overwrites all the files that already exists.
Removes META-INF folder.
Leaves a log file for actions that have occurred during installation process.
Makes backup of minecraft.jar.
GUIDE:
Put the mod installer wherever you want except minecraft folder.
Move mod's files you want to install into Mods folder.
Run InstallMods.exe.
For any unexpected problems you can restore your minecraft.jar file by opening Restore.exe.
ADDITIONAL INFO:
Fast Mod Installer is a ghost application. You will get no information onto your screen.
Mod uses 7-Zip Command Line Version from http://www.7-zip.org.
Let me know if you had any problems while using my tool.
*For everyone who is having false virus alarms. It is caused by b2e.exe file often flagged mistakenly as a virus. Bind to exe (b2e) is a standard windows library that enables applications to bind/extract files to/from an executable file at runtime. It is used by the application to extract 7za.exe file for the installation process.

This is console application made into ghost, there was no sense showing you any line when you can check everything in the log file (purpose of 'fast' mod installer). InstallMod.exe contains 7za.exe.
Here's a simple usage showing you how it works.

If you don't have modloader yet and a mod requires it you need to install it too. After you installed it once you don't have to do that again for other mods + you can install all the mods you need at the same time.

Uploaded second version. There is now 7za.exe separated from InstallMods.exe. Try to scan that one.
I'm glad I could help.
No it didn't.

Maybe for you or me it is easy but some people still have problems even getting into %appdata%. Though
I'm installing mods very often I don't like wasting my time doing the same operations all over again. It's always better to do it with "doubleclick".

Yeah... Not downloading...
and what is so hard about just putting files into minecraft.jar by yourself
Maybe for you or me it is easy but some people still have problems even getting into %appdata%. Though
I'm installing mods very often I don't like wasting my time doing the same operations all over again. It's always better to do it with "doubleclick".

Can you put modloader in the MODS file and run the app to install it, or do you have to put it in the .minecraft file?
