Welcome to the home of

Glittercraft-Clean

and

Glittercraft Texture Pack

NEWS:

Standard Glittercraft is now rdy for Beta 1.81. Glittercraft clean and HD will follow later. I am currently quite busy, so I will adapt them in the last days of September.

Currently 17.000+ downloads! (unbelieveable! thx for your interest!)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

INFO: I edited Glittercraft 2.01, Glittercraft-Clean 3.01, Glittercraft-Black V1 and Glittercraft-HD to that effect, that they now have non visible grass - grass was added with Beta 1.64.

Grass was introduced with Beta 1.64, but I made versions of my pack without it, because I personally think, that the new grass somehow doesn't fit into the clean style of the various Glittercraft variants. It's placed rather randomly on the blocks and to be honest, I don't like it. Therefore I made the last versions of each Glittercraft-Pack before Beta 1.64 use invisible grass, so you can use em with 1.64 and yet avoid black squares etc. For the post 1.64 Versions I will work something out which at least fits Glittercraft's style a little bit.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Some words on the pack:

I played around a bit and created this texture pack, originally for myself, but since I grew fond of it, I decided to let it go public... since then I have been constantly trying to improve the pack.

The main idea behind the texture pack is, that it tries to recreate a bit of the graphical impression and style Mirror's Edge had for Minecraft...

For the start I sticked to 16x16 because I thought there wouldn't be much to gain from higher resolutions for this kind of texture pack - after the feedback I got I realized that the main problem of the pack is, that it is hard to play, when you can't distinguish between dirt and stone, so I went 128x128 to be able to create textures with slight variations which still transport a clean white look...

This pack had to be renamed once, since there already was a pack named Mirrorcraft as I found out lately. It was created earlier than mine... I did notice that and do apologize for overlooking it.  I therefore renamed my own pack to "Glittercraft".

It's not  final, I'm open to suggestions... any ideas?

Please tell me what you think about it.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Install Instructions:

If you want the pack to look like on the screens (with custom turquois water etc.), you will have to use the hd-texture fix (MC-Patcher) found here:

http://www.minecraft...her-hd-fix-210/

...but you could also use it like any other 16x16 pack and just copy the .zip into your texture pack folder. You will have the standard water and lava then, but that's not what I recommend, since you will also have the standard biome colors ruining the clean white grass blocks...

For the 128x128 Versions it is inevitable to use the hd-texture fix mentioned. The beta version of the hd-texture fix allows you to switch between hd and normal packs on the fly, it really worth a try if you are into texture packs.

I will try to replace these textures step by step, but for now they will remain till I made more fitting ones.

So you took iron, gold, and diamond blocks.
And pasted them on everything.

I don't.....what.....how is this supposed to look like the cleanly industrial style of mirror's edge?

Have you played mirror's edge? Are you aware mirrors have edges?

I'm so confused.

This is what the inside of my head sounds like right now as the tiny balls of matter I call my brain cells rub themselves raw against each other in a vain effort to make sense of what I am looking at right now.

WHY

No it's just the dominace of white combined with few, very vivid colors. That's what I meant, thats what I liked about Mirror's Edge's style and that's what I tried to get into minecraft a bit.

Thanks, I didn't want to make the 1000th green grass and brown wood pack you know... I tried just to produce a similar look like Mirror's Edge with simple means... I hoped people would get the idea.

Hey, I'm interested in using this to make a map, with mainly jumping/ladder puzzles. A few more if I can think of something that fits the theme of this texture pack. Hit me up if you're interested, as I'd do a playthrough too.

My youtube is youtube.com/missunify. Watch a few videos and let me know if you're interested!

I understand what you mean, but I just like the atmosphere when wandering the clean white world...

I'm currently thinking about another color for stone, but the problem is, that colored stone could break the overall white appeal of the landscapes - since it is too common on the surface.

I can't help it - the more I played it, the more I liked it - matter of taste I guess. It's more somekind of a fun mod, rather than a serious one. As I said in OP: I made it with my preferences in mind. One can try it out - if you got any tips for improvements let me know. I'm still balancing the color tones -especially the desert biome gives me a headache, originally it was red (now sandstone is red - maybe I will swap again dunno.) I'm still not satisfied.

ty for your feedback so far, keep it coming!

ty it's good to read some positive feedback.

I'm currently working on adding some different blocks, but I don't think I will change grass, dirt blocks since they are the ones primarily carry the style.Any suggestions what exactly to diversify?

Mirrors Edge uses colors to direct players to objectives and useful objects. This is just a rainbow colored landscape.

Uhm, ok - so basically it doesn't look similar to Mirror's Edge, cause it doesn't guide the player around to useful obejctives? If you say so.

It ddefinitely has some graphical parallelities with mirrors edge - to the extent it is possible within a minecraft 16x texture pack^^
