Version 11.0

Fully compatible with Minecraft Beta 1.2.5

Posted Image Please don't use mcpatcher and the high-res pack right now, the patcher breaks redstone clocks used in my puzzles for some reason.

This is the game of Myst, being recreated in Minecraft.  All of the puzzles intact, however many are a bit simplified due to space restrictions from redstone.

All the main ages are complete, Rime may get added later though it doesn't really have any puzzles so it's not that interesting in my opinion

Currently contains:
   Myst Island
   Channelwood
   Mechanical
   Selenitic
   Stonship
   D'ni
   Rime

The 16x16 texture pack has some elements items based off Eld's Art Pack (http://www.minecraft...ic.php?&t=37621)

The new 64x64 texture pack has many elements taken from Misa's 64x64 Realistic pack (http://www.minecraft...3861&hilit=misa) and contains work contributed by MinecraftForums user vahncruz.

Original videos were made by Cyan for the original game, recreated videos were made by Ardwick of Onett for his let's play of MystCraft

UPDATE AND USE THE TEXTURE PACK, OTHERWISE MANY THINGS WILL LOOK VERY ODD

Latest Download (compatible with 1.2.5)
Videos, must be downloaded separately due to file size

To install it:

Open your .minecraft folder (in the start menu type %appdata%)
Move the Myst folder into the Saves folder
Move the "MystCraft Texture Pack.zip" folder and "MystCraft High Resolution.zip" folder into the texturepacks folder.
If you want to use the high resolution pack: run MCPatcher, it is now included in the MystCraft download.
Run Minecraft, select one of the MystCraft texture packs, play the Myst world and enjoy.

I suggest playing on peaceful to keep the creepers from blowing up the circuitry.

"Rules"!
**********************************
Don't destroy stuff, all puzzles are solvable without brute force.
Don't place blocks.
Any items you receive are only to be used in the room they are found in, except the pages which can be taken with you and are basically your score.
Only watch videos when prompted or if you have the right amount of red/blue pages.
- For each red/blue page placed into the red/blue book chests, watch the next numbered video in the red/blue folders.  Eg: when you first discover the blue book, watch the blue video 1, when you find your first blue page from an age and bring it back watch video 2 etc.
For the more hardcore Myst fans, only carry 1 page at a time!
Have fun, share your experience with your friends, and give me feedback Posted Image

Posted Image 10.0! Better clocktower puzzle, glass everywhere to prevent random snow when switching to new minecraft versions causes biome changes, paintings still have messed up lighting in some areas because of odd issues introduced in 1.8

Posted Image Just fixed some rather large issues in selenitic, and reworked the mazerunner stations so they work much better Posted Image

Posted Image Did quite a bit of sprucing up for 9.0, stoneship, channelwood, and mechanical all look quite a bit better now with more atmosphere Posted Image

Posted Image Just made the stoneship lighthouse better, still no floating chest sadly but what I've done is still better Posted Image

Posted Image Quick update here to make the nether rail system better, the cabin puzzle better, and add a couple signs to help alleviate confusion

Posted Image So someone decided to begin a let's play of MystCraft, thank you so much Ardwick, check out his channel herehere

Posted Image 8.1 was supposed to be the Rime update, but I didn't reset something, so 8.2 is the real update. Also, please don't use the high-res texture pack or mcpatcher, they break redstone clocks used in some puzzles

Posted Image Here comes 8.0, with all the piston updates and whatnot.  Stoneship, Channelwood, Selenitic, and Myst island are all updated.  Rime does not exist yet, but you can find a way to get to the build site ;D

Posted Image Finished Rime access on Myst Island, and the bridge in Channelwood.  Next will be working in Selenitic, Stoneship, and making Rime.

Posted Image Day 1 working with pistons: got the library bookcase done, access to the white page done, and most of the access to the Rime portal done. Next will be finishing access to Rime, then either working on Rime or reworking stuff in stoneship/selenitic/channelwood

Posted Image Update 7.5 fixes an issue in D'ni that made the game unwinable, so hopefully no new issues will crop up before I can stick pistons around

Posted Image Here's a quick list of things planned for when pistons are integrated in game, assuming I can have them behave as I assume I can:
1) The library staircase
2) Real underwater bridge in Channelwood
3) Real elevators on Myst and in Channelwood
4) No more obvious iron door next to the dock
5) Access to Rime
6) Controllable water in Stoneship lighthouse
7) Real flowing water noises in Selenitic (rather than sploosh noises)
8) Possible change in Myst clock tower puzzle
9) Anything else that gets suggested or I think up later on

Posted Image I submited Myst to the newest Worth1000 Minecraft contest, themed videogames.  You should totally go and vote for me http://all.worth1000...5/video-games-2

Posted Image Handful of small issues fixed, as well as portals correctly placed at each linking book on Myst island

Posted Image 7.1 fixes a couple bugs that were pointed out with 7.0

Posted Image Here we go with 7.0! Updated the texture packs, added in videos and journals, and made the green book puzzle be as it should be Posted Image

Posted Image Got the videos basically all set to go, in addition to changing access to the green book slightly and adding in txt documents for the books that are still readable in the library.  Now I'm contemplating putting several portals on Myst island to link to the nether hub (where each book is), rather than just the one in the imager room, but I'll have to make sure that returning from the nether always puts you back in the library. Also have to go and edit the high res texture pack, since I edited the regular one and made the books not be takeable items.

Made an account just to say this:
Myst is one of my favourite games ever and I'd love to check out the map.  :)

For the piano spaceship puzzles you could have a bunch of levers on different levels. Also if it wasn't 1:1 you could make it bigger when necessary... Just a thought. I'm looking forward to seeing this. It sounds like it'll be amazing.

Maybe, but personally I prefer the look over the functionality

Updated again, clocktower puzzle works a bit nicer and the clock-face torches have a much smaller delay

next step will be making the observation tower look nicer

And one more update with a much better looking observation tower

If you guys like it, I believe the next step will be creating the other ages and linking them via nether portals :D

Sadly I can't have a portal where each book is, they all come out in the same portal in the nether, and that reroutes back to the stoneship portal (which sucks if you haven't unlocked that door yet)

Any ideas?

Ok, I've overcome the portal annoyance by making a hub in the nether with only 1 link to each age, including Myst island

Epic, absolutly epic. This is a very fun game to play, as long as you don't cheat.
I've gotten three of the four puzzles, and so far I have the white page. I just can't beat the music puzzle in the rocket. =(
I think I also found a glitch for you to fix. I'm pretty sure the fireplace doors should only open at the end of the game (after all 4 puzzles are solved), right? They opened about halfway through the game for me.
Overall, keep up the good work! You are a master of redstone!
Here's a diamond. :DORE:

Thank you very much sir.  And as it stands that's not a glitch but rather by design, and I can see why it should get changed (if I can manage to fit all that redstone into such a small space)
Right now the outer doors open whenever the bookcase door is open, and close whenever the library front door is open (since in Myst you can always hang out in the fireplace so long as the front doors shut), but now I have to ask if you found the 'green' book?

Also, please stay tuned, as soon I'll post an update that has the hub world that will eventually link to the other ages :D

And here it is, version 2.0 which has the portal hub!  Sadly the other ages are nonexistant yet, but you can check out the hub if you want.  The portal to it is located in the imager room on the dock.
And if you're updating, make sure to update the texture pack as well.

Why thank ye, sadly I don't know what the max maps is.  I don't know if there's still a limit, it used to be only 5, but I'd venture a guess that the only limit is the amount of space you've got since the maps aren't saved in folders called "World1", "World2" etc. :D

That is planned, I'm gonna add a link to it in the portal hub probably today, though I can't say when the actual age will be done

Reworked the portal subway, so it should be glitchproof now as long as you dont call a booster with no cart on the track :)
Also added a stop for the D'ni portal

Will start work on the ages soon
