Could care less about new passives, IMO the game needs new hostiles. Fighting the same set of enemies over and over and over again is no fun at all, especially when said set of enemies can barely get by iron armor. Even the Nether mobs are barely a threat any more, at least to me. Rather than more atmospheric mobs that don't actually help the game, if Mojang adds a mob they should add new, more powerful hostile mobs to later areas of the game (e.g. caves, the Nether/End) with more unpredictable attack patterns and are actually balanced around iron/diamond clad players rather than an unarmored player with naught but a stone sword and a bow.
I agree to this 100%, tbh they would not have to add new mobs, just new mechanics to old mobs. Spiders (saw this on another post) could spit webs at you, (not realistic like, but neither are creepers :P). Cave Spider's poison should be able to kill you, not just bring you down to 1 health (half heart). Zombies can move faster and do a little more damage in my opinion 2 - 3 more damage. Creepers should have more health (3 hits with iron and they are dead, so sad) or when they explode they distribute fire so they are more of a problem when blowing up your base and stuff. Skeletons should be able to strafe.
Well, now we're getting Endermites and possibly Rabbits, and Jeb is working on an underwater dungeon, perhaps fish, sharks, dolphins or turtles will come as well?
